Tom Schwartz Shares New Update on Schwartz & Sandy’s Future After an "Outpouring of Love"
Vanderpump Rules' Tom Schwartz posted the latest on his bar, Schwartz and Sandy's, after revealing that it is closing.
There's only a little bit of time left before Schwartz & Sandy's is permanently closed, and Tom Schwartz is already thanking his followers for all of their support. Tom Schwartz, along with his Schwartz & Sandy's co-owner and Vanderpump Rules BFF, Tom Sandoval, announced in late November 2024 that they would be closing up their beloved bar before the end of the year.
Tom Schwartz gave a look at the bar's current vibe earlier since then on his Instagram Story. He captured an interior shot of the bar, looking ready for the holidays. In the photo, a small sitting area can be seen in front of a festive backdrop, adorned with Christmas pillows next to a fully lit Christmas tree.
In case Schwartz & Sandy's patrons didn't already feel the holiday spirit, the dozens of nutcrackers hanging out at the base of the sitting area certainly add to it. It's practically impossible to not be filled with joy when visiting Schwartz & Sandy's during its remaining days.
"Come cozy up tonight will be chilling," Tom Schwartz wrote over the photo of the sitting area. "Trying to make the days count, not count the days over here."
Tom Schwartz also posted a statement where he thanked his Instagram followers for coming out and supporting the bar while it remains open. "Outpouring of love at the bar has been [red heart emoji]," he wrote. "Thank you guys."
Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval's Statements on Schwartz & Sandy's Closing
Tom Schwartz originally took to Instagram on Nov. 25, where he revealed that the bar would be closing before the end of the year and would begin their "farewell tour." "This was not an easy conclusion," he wrote in the statement.
"So this is a farewell tour. Let Tom and I host your holiday parties, birthdays, even a funeral for your lizard (rip Daug)," he added. "It's a celebration so many of us working here have poured our hearts into over the last few years. Let's end this era on a high note and come on by, bring your friends, toast to the upcoming holidays, and let's manifest together a kick ass New Year. There's some peace in knowing I gave my all into S&S, fully committed with every fiber of my being. To all the patrons who came in & supported us, showed me love every single night I was there, you kept me going through some of the harder times."
Tom Sandoval took to his Instagram account that same day where he released his own statement on the closing of the bar. "With a heavy heart, we've made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy's at the end of December," he wrote.
"This hasn't been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold. While this business venture has been an incredible stepping stone in my life, one I will always cherish, I look forward to exciting new endeavors."
When is Schwartz and Sandy's closing?
Neither Tom Schwartz or Tom Sandoval have confirmed the exact date when the bar will be closing its doors. However, both business partners did confirm that it will happen before the end of the year.
Why is Schwartz and Sandy's closing?
In a statement given to People on Nov. 25, Tom Schwartz said that closing Schwartz and Sandy's was one of "the hardest decisions" he has ever had to make.
"Unfortunately, the current climate for this business is pretty rough," he noted. "Recovering from all the negativity post-scandal wasn't easy, and the slimmer margins post-COVID made it even harder to bounce back. There's not a lot of room for error in the restaurant/bar business."
