Tom Sandoval Shares How He Really Feels About Katie Maloney-Schwartz

Everyone knows that Tom Schwartz has not one but TWO great loves of his life: his wife Katie Maloney-Schwartz and bestie Tom Sandoval. So, when Schwartz appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on September 28, Andy Cohen made him do the unthinkable: choose between Katie and Sandoval.
In a game called "Bro for Life or My Dear Wife?" (clip above), Andy listed off various scenarios to Schwartz and asked the Vanderpump Rules cast member to choose if Katie or Sandoval, who appeared as his fellow guest on WWHL, better fit the bill. Some of the real dilemmas Schwartz was faced with included who has a better business sense, whose fashion opinion does he trust more, and who takes longer to get ready. Unfortunately for Schwartz, Katie and Sandoval don't always seem to get along the best. In fact, the two got into a disagreement over Sandoval's proposed name for his and Schwartz's new bar, Schwartz and Sandy's, in the Vanderpump Rules Season 9 premiere, which aired on September 28, with Katie expressing that she is not a fan of the moniker.
Ariana Madix also recalled Sandoval and Katie's long, tense history earlier in the episode after Katie expressed her hopes of being involved in the Toms' new bar. "Katie and I have gotten pretty close, but Tom Sandoval and Katie have kind of always clashed, so I'm not really sure how much he's gonna love the idea of Katie being involved in the bar," Ariana said in an interview during the episode. "I'm pretty sure he's gonna f--king hate it."
Sandoval addressed his conflict with Katie during the September 28 WWHL After Show (clip below). "I'm never the first one to pick a fight," he said. "Just trust me."
When Andy pointed out "that's not the answer," Sandoval clarified, "I'm just saying I'm always cordial with Katie."
Schwartz also called Sandoval out for his "terrible answer," which he apologized for before setting the record straight on his feelings about Katie. "Like, we take vacations together. Dude, we love each other, man," Sandoval confirmed. "We have very strong personalities, so yeah, we do butt heads. But I frickin' love Katie, dude. I love Katie so much. She knows that."
Schwartz added that he knows Sandoval and Katie are actually very close. "They have a deep bond," he shared. "They do."
As the WWHL After Show came to a close, Sandoval reflected on his journey with Katie and the rest of the Vanderpump Rules crew through the seasons. "I want to say it has been an amazing ride. Obviously, thank you so much to the fans, like everybody that's watched us throughout the years. It's truly humbling to put yourself out there, be with people, whether I'm getting along with Katie or anybody, or Lala [Kent], I have nothing but respect for the people that are on our cast because they really, truly put themselves out there," Sandoval shared. "Whether we get along or not, I have to respect that."
