Tish Cyrus on the Magic of Her L.A. and Nashville Homes (And, No, It Has Nothing to Do with Billy Ray)
The #CyrusVsCyrus designer gets real about sharing her pad with her design-challenged hubby.
If you're Tish Cyrus, you're lucky enough to have homes in both L.A. and Nashville. And as it turns out, while those two cities are very different in terms of their vibe and aesthetic, Tish has a certain eye for interior design that makes her two pads feel a bit similar.
"I have a very specific style, I feel like. I have such a specific style that I feel like they are similar in ways, except for the exterior," she shared with The Daily Dish. "One [in L.A.] is very, like a hacienda. It was built in 1933, and it's just very cool and I love it so much. And then my house in Nashville, it's a cute, little white brick cottage-y [place]. It's the cutest thing ever."
Her daughter and fellow Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer designer, Brandi Cyrus, added that the "inside is very Boho contemporary" and that the home in Nashville is getting a refresh with southwestern tile and bold prints. Tish has her sights on freshening up her L.A. home next.
Still, don't expect Tish's longtime love, husband Billy Ray Cyrus, to have any say in what happens anywhere in the house. "She won't let him touch her house," Brandi revealed.
Not that he doesn't try every once in a while to sneak something into Casa Cyrus, even though Tish has created a space for him to call his own. "I build him his own spaces out of the home. It's actually called a Bali tea hut. It is so sick. It's just the coolest space. He has his gym in there, a little office, a studio -- so it's his man cave. It's pretty amazing, to be honest," she said. "And then I will come home and something will be taken off the mantle and they'll be, like, a big Mandala. And I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, when did this happen?' And he'll be like 'Oh, I was just waiting for you to notice it.' And I notice within, like, four seconds of coming home. So he's funny."
However, the Cyrus sense of home style was passed down to Miley Cyrus. Find out what her mom had to say about that, below.
