Luann de Lesseps Addresses Dorinda Medley's Comments About Why She Really Went to Rehab
The Real Housewives of New York City mom shares an update on her recovery.
Luann de Lesseps returned to rehab in July right before the taping of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 10 reunion, so she was therefore not present for the sit-down. Naturally, Luann's journey was still a major topic of conversation during the reunion, and she finally got a chance to address all of her fellow New York Housewives' comments during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday night (clip above).
First up, she addressed Dorinda Medley's claim that Luann checked herself into an alcohol treatment center "because she needed to stay out of jail, and it was practically court ordered" following her arrest last Christmas Eve in Palm Beach, Florida. "I was not court ordered to go to rehab. I went on my own recognizance, first of all, so Dorinda doesn't know anything about me," Luann explained. "I went because I felt that I needed to go and take care of myself. I take it very seriously, my sobriety, and it's 51 days today, by the way."
Ramona Singer also shed new light on Luann's tumble in the bushes during the girls' trip to Mexico in Season 9, revealing that she had told her friend some new information about her then-husband Tom D'Agostino. Luann confirmed on WWHL that she "was upset" about what Ramona had told her about Tom that night in Mexico. However, she said she "was grateful" that they had the conversation off-camera. "You know, at that point, I think he had been brought up enough," Luann said. "I think you guys would agree."
But Luann wasn't so happy to hear Ramona say at the reunion that Luann had allegedly gotten into some wild behavior this summer before she returned to rehab. "Look at me, Ramona, with those eyes. I was never at the Beacon this summer, so that is a total lie," Luann said. "And at Chris Burch's party, I was not kicked out, Ramona, so you gotta stop making stuff up to make yourself look better, Ramona, it's not gonna happen."
