Here’s How Heather and Terry Dubrow Are Celebrating His Birthday After His Health Scare
Dr. Terry Dubrow said he and his wife, RHOC's Heather Dubrow, are taking the celebration overseas.
Dr. Terry Dubrow will celebrate his 65th year alongside his best friend and wife, Heather Dubrow.
The Real Housewives of Orange County husband revealed his birthday plans during an E! News interview on August 23, just several weeks after he survived a life-threatening blood clot. Terry told the outlet that he and his wife of 24 years will head to the City of Lights later this month and celebrate his big day (Sept. 14) in France.

“Heather and I — she got invited to a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris, so we’re going to take that invitation and make sort of a birthday trip to France and celebrate there,” he said. “We’ve been married a long time and I’m not the most romantic guy in the world, but we do little trips. Rather than go on long vacations we try to do little frequent trips.”
Dr. Terry Dubrow's recent health scare
There’s no doubt that Terry’s upcoming birthday will be filled with love and tons of gratitude. In early August, the plastic surgeon was transported to the hospital after he began slurring his speech during a family dinner. The incident reportedly occurred at The Ivy in Los Angeles, where Terry was enjoying a meal alongside Heather and their 19-year-old son, Nick Dubrow.
Heather Dubrow urged husband to go to the hospital
Although Terry claimed his speech improved in less than a minute, Heather insisted he seek immediate medical attention. Terry told TMZ he tried to convince his wife that he was fine; however, the OC mom wasn’t taking any chances and asked Nick to call 911. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after and determined Terry was OK. But Heather still had her doubts and began calling their physician friends for advice.
It wasn’t long before Heather convinced Terry to go to the hospital and receive a thorough examination. It was at that time that doctors discovered Terry had suffered a transient ischemic attack, a mini-stroke that occurred after a blood clot made its way through a hole in Terry's heart.
Dr. Terry Dubrow says Heather "saved my life"
The OC doctor reflected on his health scare during a virtual appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“I’m gonna try to say this without crying, but the only reason I’m standing here today and not six feet under is because of my best friend and beloved wife’s insistence that I go to the emergency room and get checked out,” Terry said during the August 9 episode. “She saved my life. That’s just the way it goes. So, what can I say? I love my wife and she saved my life.”
