Teresa Giudice No Longer Filing for Bankruptcy
The New Jersey Housewife gets right on the money.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice is getting her payback.
After filing for bankruptcy in 2009 along with husband Joe and listing approximately $11 million in debt, the ‘Wife is now voluntarily paying her remaining balance. “Teresa and Joe are happy about this. Teresa has always wanted to be able to say that she paid her creditors," Jim Kridel, the couple’s bankruptcy attorney, tells People.
But it won’t be easy money: Kridel also clarified that nearly all of the debt was Joe’s and “the cost of litigation might exceed what she owes. She may not be able to pay all [her creditors] with one check, but she can pay them back. She wants to do the right thing.”
T’s already begun scaling back by trading diamonds for costume jewelry and pizza party birthdays instead of spa days and limos. The mom of four can also count on her extended RHONJ family for continued support. Jaime Laurita, Caroline and Dina Manzo’s brother, tweeted Teresa, “stay sparkly ! Some people only shine when the lights are on. True beauty is when your light shines from within.”
