We Just Learned the Sweetest Details About Teresa Giudice's Engagement
A Real Housewives alum played "a very big role" in the RHONJ cast member's romantic moment.
Following the news that Teresa Giudice is engaged to Luis "Louie" Ruelas, The Daily Dish has even more romantic details on The Real Housewives of New Jersey proposal.
PEOPLE was first to report the happy news of the couple's engagement, which took place earlier this week on Tuesday, October 19 with Teresa's best friend and RHONJ alum Dina Manzo and her husband, Dave Cantin, in attendance. Now, The Daily Dish has learned just how large of a part Dina and Dave played in helping Louie pop the question and keep it a surprise for Teresa.
"Teresa thought the four of them were going to an all white party on a private island, so she was dressed for the big moment," a source tells The Daily Dish exclusively. "Dina played a very big role in helping divert her attention so that she was completely surprised when the big moment happened."
The proposal looked absolutely dreamy, as seen in photos shared by PEOPLE, which show Teresa and Louie dressed all in white surrounded by candles and rose petals. An illuminated sign reading "Marry me" can be seen in the background. Sparklers, a violinist, and a fireworks display also helped Louie pop the question at Amanzoe Resort in Porto Heli, Greece, according to PEOPLE.
Teresa and Louie have been vacationing in Greece with Dina and Dave this week, which has included helicopter rides, lovely nights out, and, of course, some breathtaking scenery.
Bravo fans know that Teresa and Dina's friendship has continued long after Dina's time on RHONJ (she was part of the cast in Seasons 1, 2, and 6). The two get together every chance they get, even if they now live on opposite coasts after Dina relocated to California several years ago.
After spending her birthday with Dave, Teresa, and Louie earlier this year, Dina gave her BFF's now-fiancé her seal of approval in the caption to a post on Instagram on March 10, which read, in part, "It was so sweet of [Dave] to include one of my dearest friends too. It’s been so long since [Teresa] and I spent quality time together and getting to know her new man was such a pleasure. Thank you [Louie] for your generosity and open heart too!"
Teresa also previously showed some love for Dina's significant other, sharing, "I like him a lot," during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in November 2020. "She's doing amazing. Her and David are married. They have a beautiful house. They have lots of pets. She seems so happy," Teresa shared an update on Dina's life on the West Coast at the time. "I'm happy for her. I can't wait to go out there and visit her."
