Teddi Shares Update on Daughter Dove After Getting Emotional at the RHOBH Reunion

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave was expecting her third child this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, whom she welcomed in February. But Teddi opened up about an unexpected challenge she and her family encountered with daughter Dove shortly after her birth during Part 2 of the RHOBH Season 10 reunion, which aired on September 9.

Teddi shared that Dove was diagnosed with a condition called lambdoid craniosynostosis. "That's where, in utero, the baby's head forms together," Teddi explained. "Normally, you have these openings in your skull and the sutures have closed on one of her sides, so she's gonna have to have neurosurgery in two weeks to repair that."

As Teddi started to get choked up while talking about her daughter's upcoming surgery, her fellow Beverly Hills Housewives and Andy Cohen offered her words of encouragement. "All your kids are so strong like you," Kyle Richards told Teddi. "She's going to be great."

Teddi said that she was staying optimistic during this worrisome time. "Kids are really resilient, and I think it's hard for us to remember that sometimes, but I know she's gonna be OK," she shared. "I have faith."

Teddi confirmed on Instagram in late July that Dove had had a successful surgery. She also shared an update on how her daughter is doing today on Twitter as Part 2 of the RHOBH Season 10 reunion aired. "She's doing great," Teddi tweeted.

Teddi previously shared how Dove's recovery is going on Instagram at the end of August. “Her incision is healing amazingly, and now, she is going in to be fitted for a helmet next week," Teddi said. “Of course, I asked how long she needs to be in the helmet, and they said probably around 6 months. After that, she will just go in once a year and get CT scans to make sure she will not need any additional surgeries.”

Dove hasn't skipped a beat in hitting milestones since her surgery. The nearly 6-month-old just started teething.
