Taylor Ann Green's Boyfriend Has Thoughts About Her Friendship with Shep Rose
The Southern Charm-er also explained why she reconciled with her ex after their dramatic split.
Taylor Ann Green isn’t opposed to a post-split friendship.
Weeks after the Southern Charm Season 9 finale, Taylor shared additional details about where she stands with her castmates — specifically her ex-boyfriend, Shep Rose. The two became romantically involved in 2020 but called it quits about two years later after Shep’s admitted infidelity and refusal to commit.
The dramatic breakup spilled over into Season 9, resulting in heated confrontations between the former couple and their fellow Southern Charm-ers. But despite all the drama that ensued, Taylor and Shep managed to reconcile and appear to be on great terms to this day.
Taylor spoke about the relationship during the January 25 episode of the Viall Files podcast, explaining why she not only forgave Shep but also considers him a “very good friend.”

“Shep is the type of person where he will always want to be friends with his exes,” she said. “So after we broke up, he just wanted to be friends, right off the bat. And I was, like, ‘This is not how this works. You hurt me, deeply hurt me’… I was just, like, ‘I need my space, give me some time to heal from all of this. I can’t just go into being friends with you when three weeks ago you were talking to my family about marrying me.’”
But Taylor had a change of heart following the death of her older brother, Richard Worthington Green.

“After my brother’s passing, he was one of the first people to show up,” she explained. “He drove up to Raleigh and was there to be with me and my family, and so that was really big. He was good friends with my brother.”
Taylor said she was incredibly touched by Shep’s support and decided to put all their “bulls—t aside,” offer a clean slate, and rebuild their relationship.
“We do have a good, close friendship. He’s still in group messages with my family,” she revealed.

So what does Taylor’s new boyfriend, Gaston Rojas, think of the post-breakup friendship? It sounds like he's pretty cool with it, as Taylor reassured Gaston that her relationship with Shep was strictly platonic.
“[Gaston] gets it,” Taylor continued. “He’s understanding, where he goes, ‘… It’s a friendship and it’s nothing more than that’… In no way do I ever think that Shep is trying to sneak his way back in and in no way will I ever want to get back together with him. What’s done is done. I’ve moved forward and he is a friend to me and that’s it.”
