Lindsay Hubbard Reveals Where She Stands with Amanda Batula After Drama
The Summer House cast member’s update comes after Amanda made a shady comment on WWHL.
It’s been a little over a month since Amanda Batula purported that Lindsay Hubbard “can be” rude to fans when she’s “caught off-guard” — however, their friendship has yet to recover. Lindsay revealed as much during a recent interview with Us Weekly, admitting that she and her fellow Summer House cast member haven’t even spoken since the drama went down.
That’s “not necessarily abnormal,” though. As Lindsay put it, “[Amanda]’s not much of a ‘Hey, let me call up Lindsay and apologize.’”
Still, “it was a hurtful comment,” Lindsay added. “I don’t believe it to be true and I took to my Instagram and defended my point of view and then I left it at that.”
Her defense involved sharing photos of her attending various Loverboy events to support Amanda and Kyle Cooke (and her own fiancé, Carl Radke). “Why would I do that if I didn’t like fans? Or if I was rude?” she wrote on one IG Story. “Why would I VOLUNTEER to be at more events than I need to? Think about that one.”
Lindsay has since doubled down on the defense, and once again reiterated her point during the Us Weekly interview, explaining, “I just know how many things I’ve done in a very public way on behalf of Loverboy, and for me it was just more of a situation where you’re not even acknowledging all the times I was in front of fans to support you and your company. And then your saying something like that is really hurtful.”
She doesn’t plan to hold a grudge against the Winter House cast member, though. “I have an ability to find closure about things and situations on my own and I did that,” Lindsay said. “I don’t necessarily expect an apology from Amanda because I just know that it’s probably not gonna come.”
And should they find themselves together in a group setting anytime soon? “I’m never one to be super awkward with people. Like, I’ll say, ‘Hi, hello, how are you?’” Lindsay explained. “I mean, that’s just my personality. There’s so many times that she’s done things to me that we’ve sort of just brushed under the rug and then we were fine a couple weeks later, so I’m just expecting that.”
