Is Shep Rose's Real Mom Anything Like Patricia Altschul?

Over the course of Southern Charm's three seasons, it's been made pretty clear that Shep Rose certainly has that special something that makes women swoon. (Check out the clip above for some proof.) And, as it turns out, there are currently two special women in his life: his mother, Frances Rose, and Southern Charm's matriarch, Patricia Altschul.

Frances made a little cameo on this week's episode in the form of a Facetime heart-to-heart with her son, but it's not just his actual mama that he's been turning to for words of wisdom. "I mean, we talk on the phone actually every now and then," Shep told The Daily Dish of his friendship with Patricia. "Even when Whitney's out of town, she'll say, 'I have a friend in town I want you to meet. Why don't you come over and have a glass of wine?' So, I don't think I'm stretching it too much to say that she's sort of — we consider each other our second mom, second son kind of thing. I think. I hope that's not overstepping."

Shep revealed that there are some similarities between his surrogate mom in Charleston and his real mom. "Well, my mom don't have a butler," he joked. "But they're a lot of alike. They can hang with the guys and laugh at the stories and not be too demure and Southern gentile. They can yuck it up and that's fun. I like that. Of course, I wouldn't say some of the things that Whitney says in front of his mom in front of my mom, but that's their relationship and that's fine."
