You Need to See How Madison Reacted to Her Husband's Chance Encounter with Austen
The Southern Charm cast member laughed off a potentially awkward moment.
How does one navigate an unexpected run-in between a new partner and an ex? Well, if you’re Madison LeCroy, you handle it with a sense of humor.
Go Inside Austen and Brett's Meetup
The Southern Charm-er demonstrated this during a recent date night with her husband, Brett Randle. The newlyweds celebrated Cinco de Mayo at a Mexican restaurant in Charleston, where they unexpectedly spotted Madison’s ex-boyfriend and Southern Charm castmate Austen Kroll. Though the situation could’ve been extremely awkward, Brett decided to deal with it head-on and graciously approached Austen at the bar. And, yes, Madison made sure to film the encounter and share it on Instagram.
The clip showed Brett walking up to Austen and giving him a slight nudge on the back. The Kings Calling Brewing founder immediately recognized Madison’s hubby and shook his hand before asking, “Where’s your wife at?” Brett then directed the Winter House cast member toward Madison, who continued to film just several feet away. “Oh, Madison! What?!” Austen said with a surprised smile.
The mother-of-one was obviously amused by the incident: “Can’t lie this made me laugh,” she captioned the Instagram story.
Austen reposted the clip on his own Instagram page and confirmed it was a pleasant and light-hearted moment.
“Too good,” he wrote. “We all just had a good laugh.”
Minutes after the encounter, Madison shared a photo of her and Brett sitting at Viva Tacos & Tequila with Dos Equis beer in hand.
“Happy Cinco de Mayo y’all,” she wrote in the story. “Our neighborhood spot.”
Madison married Brett in November 2022, nearly two years after she and Austen officially called it quits. During an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, Madison opened up about her past romance with Austen and how it compared to her current relationship. She admitted that her time with Austen was “pretty fun at the beginning,” but it ultimately became too dramatic.
“I would say my relationship now is completely opposite of any relationship I’ve ever had,” she said back in January. “[Brett] has a level of respect for me and as I do for him. And I just — man, what a difference. I have not been treated so well. And I am very blessed.”
