How Josh Flagg Said "Goodbye" to Sonja Morgan's Iconic Townhouse: "Sad"

Josh Flagg has seen a lot of homes throughout his time as a realtor for Josh Flagg Real Estate and as a cast member on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. But he has never seen a home more iconic than his BFF Sonja Morgan's beloved Upper East Side townhouse in New York City.

How to Watch

The Real Housewives of New York City alum's legendary home finally sold in an auction in May 2024 after nearly a decade of being on the market. But before Sonja moved out for good in July, Josh was able to say goodbye to the five-story brownstone in Manhattan.

How Josh Flagg paid tribute to Sonja Morgan's Upper East Side townhouse

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Josh revealed that he was able to visit the house in its final days. Needless to say, it was a very sad experience — especially since it sold for $4.45 million, which is about half of what Sonja was asking for.

While Josh might have called Sonja "the worst houseguest in history" after she left his bathtub running all night long back in 2021, Josh treated Sonja's iconic townhouse with a little bit of respect. "I stayed there about a month and a half ago to say goodbye to it," he shared. "It was sad because I would wake up in the morning — and Sonja wasn't even there — and there would be realtors coming in the bedroom. And it was like, all empty."

"But I kind of wanted to say goodbye to it, because [of] so many memories," he explained, before adding that he think it "sold cheap."

Sonja Morgan explains why she finally sold her townhouse at auction

During an appearance on WWHL's 15th Anniversary Special on June 30, Sonja opened up about what caused her to auction off the home. Instead of this being a sad moment for her, Sonja said that it has been a bit of a relief to no longer worry about it.

"Every time I would list it, I would rent it 'cause I have to pay the bills every month," she explained. "This time, I said 'Auction it. I want out. I want a finite time. I am out!' I sold the furniture. I'm feeling much lighter and I'm figuring I'm gonna eat more, sleep more, and get laid more."

But, Sonja still paid tribute to the role the house played in her life in an Instagram post shortly after moving out. "This stately brownstone has been a cornerstone for me and my family's life, a beautiful sanctuary filled with laughter and love," she wrote.
