Sonja Morgan Comments on Her Hamptons Dinner Drama with Ramona Singer
Luann de Lesseps also said The Real Housewives of New York City incident was "hard for me to watch."
The Real Housewives of New York City ladies' trip to the Hamptons in Season 13 continued to be eventful in the May 18 episode.
During a day out at a winery and shopping, the group could tell that Sonja Morgan was having a good time. However, once dinner rolled around, it became apparent that maybe she had imbibed a little bit too much.
Sonja responded to Luann de Lesseps FaceTiming her then-boyfriend Garth at the table by making a call to her own friend, William, twice. It was during the second call that Eboni K. Williams showed her appreciation to Sonja's friend, who works for JPMorgan Chase, for the company's commitment of $30 billion to advance racial equity.
Sonja, of course, has another major personal connection to that company through her ex-husband, John Adams Morgan, whose family founded the original firm. So, when Eboni also mentioned that she was getting her mortgage through Chase, and Ramona Singer noted that "Wells Fargo has better rates," Sonja took offense, telling her friend to "shut the f--k up" as they both got up from the table.
We'll have to wait and see how this dinner ends in the next episode of RHONY, which airs Tuesday, May 25 at 9/8c. However, Sonja made a brief comment about the incident in response to a tweet prior to the episode airing that referenced "a tiff" was coming up between Sonja and Ramona. Sonja hinted that we will see Ramonja bounce back from this, responding to the tweet by saying that she and Ramona just argue "like sisters do."
When Luann appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following the episode on May 18, the titular host asked what it was like for the New York Housewife to be at that dinner, considering the fact that she has re-committed to a sober lifestyle this season. "Yeah, you know, listen, I don't mind when people drink, but when people get out of control, then that's hard for me to watch. I love Sonjarita, too," Luann said in the above clip. "I just want the best for her. I've always got her back. As you see, I bought her a top, I wanted her to feel happy, and she got a little too happy."
