Shep Rose Shares a New Look at His Big Career Move: "Might As Well..." (PHOTO)
The Southern Charm cast member is back from traveling and he is ready to get to work.
Shep Rose is officially back to work after traveling all across the world. The Southern Charm cast member has been all over this year, going everywhere from the sunny coast of Italy to sandy shores of Costa Rica. But now Shep is back in Charleston, and he has set his sights on his laptop.
Shep took to his Instagram Story recently, where he revealed what he has been up to as of late — he's been busy working on his untitled second book. In the photo, the former real estate agent can be seen wearing a casual hoodie and baseball cap, smiling into the camera, sitting at a table. He brought along his laptop with him, as he showed off his computer, with a word document pulled up and text all across his screen. It's safe to say that Shep has been writing a lot.
"Since I'm back from my travels. To some sense of normalcy," he wrote over the photo. "And time clock all askew. Might as well write!"
But that wasn't all he revealed. He also teased when fans might be able to check out the project. "Book on the way," he added at the bottom of the photo. "Springtime."
It's just a little unclear what this second book is about. However, he did reveal that it's making him laugh a lot. Shep had previously announced this new project over the summer, when he took to his Instagram Story back on June 22. At the time, Shep had taken a selfie at a coffee shop with a word document pulled up on his laptop.
"Writing away on this fine Saturday," he wrote over the photo. "Really excited about this project. Think it's a good thing when you're typing and laughing."
What is Shep Rose's first book about?
Shep is the author of the essay collection, Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar, which is filled with advice and stories about everything, including Shep's thoughts on "relationships to travel to popular culture." Per the publisher, the book is also a "relatable collection of lessons and anecdotes about living an untamed, genuine life, raising hell yet having fun along the way."
"With his signature endearingly snarky voice, he explores topics as varied as the trials and tribulations of being a late bloomer, the ins and outs of ghosting, how to talk about politics without resorting to blows, the dos and dont's of getting drunk abroad, and much more," according to the book's description.
Shep Rose Says He's an "Open Book"
In a March 2021 interview with Us Weekly, Shep admitted that writing his debut book came naturally to him. "I just sat down and did it," he said. "I enjoyed it. I had fun."
"When I do write, it comes quite easily," he added. "I'm really raw about what I thought and how much fun I had — good, bad, and ugly. We had to pare down some of the [travel] stuff, but I'm an open book, no pun intended. So maybe I'll release, you know, the unabridged version or whatever at one point in my life."
Who knows? Maybe book number two is a play on the unabridged version of his first book. Or maybe it's just Shep continuing to be an open book.
