Shamea Morton Is One Step Closer to Getting Married
The #RHOA pal took part in a very special ceremony on the way to the altar.
Shamea Morton is getting married this July, but the wedding festivities have already begun for The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal. Shamea and her fiancé Gerald Mwangi, who is originally from Kenya, recently took part in a traditional dowry ceremony prior to their nuptials.
The RHOA bride-to-be just posted a photo of herself and Gerald at the ceremony looking stunning in their traditional garb on Instagram. “This past weekend was my ‘Kuracia & Ngurario’ (Dowry & Traditional Kikuyu Wedding Ceremony). It was BEAUTIFUL!" Shamea gushed in the caption to the pic. "We were surrounded by so many of our friends and family! My father in law gave me the name 'Mumbi'- she was regarded as mother of the Kikuyu people. We are looking forward to our Western ceremony in Kenya in July!!!”
Shamea previously shared with The Daily Dish that she and Gerald will be tying the knot in a ceremony Nyeri, Kenya on July 22, and the reception will be held on Mount Kenya. She said she wants to party "all night long" with her wedding guests, who she hopes will include Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, Cynthia Bailey, and Porsha Williams. "I want it to be an experience for my guests, not just the wedding day," she told The Daily Dish. "I want them to leave like, ‘Oh my goodness, that was fun.’"
But first, these Georgia Peaches will sit down with Andy Cohen at the Season 9 RHOA reunion kicking off Sunday at 8/7c. Prepare yourself by checking out a clip of all the shade and drama to come, below.
