Below Deck Med's Jess More Clarifies How Much She Really Knew About Rob Westergaard's Relationship Status
There was some confusion over whether the deckhand had a girlfriend or not on Below Deck Med.
Just as things were starting to heat up for Jessica More and Robert Westergaard on Below Deck Mediterranean, they briefly cooled in the July 6 episode.
While sitting with Hannah Ferrier and Bugsy Drake in the crew mess, Jess showed her fellow stews a photo of her kissing Rob (clip above). Hannah asked Jess what was going on with Rob's girlfriend, and she noted that he said he was "seeing someone," although it was suggested that it wasn't serious. The chief stew then noted that Rob posted a photo of him kissing his girlfriend and wrote "missing your touch" in a post in his Instagram Story, which was published before he and Jess had shared a smooch of their own.
Rob later confirmed during dinner out with the crew that he does not have a girlfriend. "There's nothing going on. I would not do this if it were," he said. "It's over."
The deckhand opened up more about his relationship status in an interview during the episode. "I broke it off for myself," he explained. "I'd rather not be in something if I'm gonna cheat on someone. Even though it's like an open experience."
This didn't seem to derail any romance that was blooming between Jess and Rob. They resumed kissing and cuddling as the night went on.
After receiving some questions from fans on Twitter as the episode aired, Jess clarified just how much she really knew about the woman Rob was seeing back home. "He swore to me he was just seeing someone casually (dating/nothing serious)," she said on Twitter. "I didn’t see the actual photo that was posted till the show aired."
Jess said in another tweet that she would never date someone who was already in a relationship. "I KNOW I did nothing wrong and in fact had asked [Rob] multiple times to know what the deal was," she said in another tweet.
As for Rob, he had a cheeky reaction to the episode as a whole, which he shared via a GIF on Instagram.
