Candiace Dillard Bassett Teases What’s to Come with Porsha Williams on RHUGT Season 3
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member also revealed where she and Porsha stand today.
Candiace Dillard Bassett and Porsha Williams weren’t exactly the best of friends heading into The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 3.
As Candiace herself put it in a recent interview with E! News, “We had this public beef. I was kind of not excited to see her for a lot of reasons.”
Unsurprisingly, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member and The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum “started out a little rocky,” Candiace noted — but with an important caveat. “Spoiler alert: I was at her wedding, so obviously we get to a good place.”
“I think we just misjudged one another,” she continued. “I’m a vibes person — like, we be vibin’ — and when I got in her presence, she’s, like, a really sweet woman. I think she’s misunderstood, much like yours truly. And we were able to kind of figure it out.”
That’s not to say Candiace didn’t speak her mind, even if it meant stirring the pot with Porsha. As she put it, “I asked what everybody wanted to know. Give me an award, because I asked all the questions.”
Based on the assessments made by some of Candiace and Porsha’s castmates, the latter didn’t hold back, either. The Real Housewives of Miami’s Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton were put to the test on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in February, where they played a game that was aptly titled “Spill the UG-Tea.” During it, they were tasked with assigning specific superlatives to their fellow RHUGT cast members, including Porsha, Candiace and her RHOP castmate Gizelle Bryant, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, and The Real Housewives of New York City’s Leah McSweeney.
When it came to Porsha, she was named alongside Gizelle as the cast member who threw the best shade. Candiace, meanwhile, was chosen as the ’Wife who was most different from what they expected.
Other prompts given to Alexia and Marysol included the last cast member they had texted (it was Heather for both of them), the person — er, people — with the best sense of style (they nominated themselves), and who made the “worst first impression” (both said Leah).
