Who Is Mia Thornton's New Man? You Can "Google Him"
And yes, Gordon is supportive of the new relationship, which became Instagram official over New Year's.
The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Mia Thornton is spilling some tea about her new man.
Mia, who is currently separated from her husband of 10 years, Gordon Thornton, told Andy Cohen on What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week that she’s “committed” to a new “boo” — and apparently Gordon is supportive of the new romance!
“We are committed, you know, we’re doing our thing,” Mia explained. “I’m still legally married, but Gordon does give us his blessing.”
Who is Mia Thornton's new man?
Although Mia opted not to name her new suitor, she did let some details slip about just who seems to have won the mom of two’s heart.
According to Mia, her new boyfriend is a “public figure” in the world of radio, who lives in Atlanta.
“He is in entertainment, yes,” she said, adding he is someone “you can Google.”
The mystery man also played a significant role in Mia’s past and is someone she dated before she spent time as an exotic dancer.
“Did he ever see you dance?” a curious Andy probed.
“No. Absolutely not,” Mia replied. “We weren’t together during that time.”
On New Year’s Eve 2023, Mia launched her relationship on Instagram with a photo of her wrapping her legs around her new beau in front of a car. His face was not shown in the image.
"4.4.4. #2024," Mia wrote in the caption, a reference to the "angel number" 444, and adding a white heart emoji. "Let’s Go!"
While Mia is wearing a diamond ring in the photo, the RHOP cast member is not engaged … yet.
She previously clarified the meaning of the ring after wearing it at BravoCon 2023.
"I am not engaged; I am committed, yes," Mia said.
Her Instagram bio noted as of January 2024 that she is "almost” a fiancée.
What is the status of Mia Thornton's friendship with Jacqueline Blake?
It seems her new boyfriend also has a connection to Mia’s long-time best friend Jacqueline Blake — who she’s recently patched things up with.
Tension had been brewing between the besties for some time, but while answering a fan question on WWHL, Mia said the pair had recently found a way to put their differences aside.

“Yeah, so it’s funny because Jacqueline and I talk all the time now. She has helped tremendously with the kids,” she shared. “I talked to her yesterday. We are going to do a concert, we’re going ice skating together with the kids, we’re gonna do a lot of things.”
Mia added that the friendship had been “too deep” to let it go by the wayside.
“She’s also the best friend of my new boo,” she said, adding Jacqueline knew her new love because “he’s a guy from my past.”
Where do Mia Thornton and Gordon Thornton stand today?
The long history Mia has with her new beau also meant her new love already knew Gordon.
“Was your new boo someone that you guys welcomed into the bedroom?” Andy asked.
“No, New Boo doesn’t play those games,” Mia joked. “New boo says no, I’m all his and that’s it. I’m locked up.”
Mia opened up about the unconventional arrangement she had with Gordon during their decade-long marriage on WWHL. Although she said they didn’t have an “open marriage,” they did do “some things” to spice up the romance.
“It wasn’t open,” she told Andy. “I think open marriage is when you can, like, do things without the other partner. Gordon was always involved.”
When asked the “main reason” the marriage unraveled, Mia replied that it was difficult to point to any one issue.
“I just think it’s just a sequence of events over the past couple of years that put a strain on the marriage,” she said, adding that their recent financial struggles had “a lot to do” with the growing tension.
Before Season 8 of RHOP premiered, the couple was experiencing business issues that left them “not in a good place” in the marriage.
The couple formally announced their separation in September, among their marital “ups and downs.”
As for how it’s going now between the exes, Mia insisted on WWHL that they were “coparenting very well” and the “kids are great” despite the family shake up.
“We are communicating well, contrary to public belief,” she said of her interactions with Gordon.
To ease the transition for their children, son Jeremiah and daughter Juliana, Mia said she and Gordon, who she often calls “G,” decided the children would stay in the same home and they would rotate in and out to coparent. Each also has their own place.
“The kids don’t have to move around,” she said.
Although the marriage may not have worked out as they once intended, Mia only had good things to say about her estranged husband.
“You know I love G and I want what’s best for him and he’s been a phenomenal man and I do feel like a lot of my success I do owe to him,” she told Andy. “You know, it’s just feelings get in the way, but G’s not a terrible guy. But he is very happy and he does also hang out with my new beau.”
