Candiace Dillard Bassett Shares Behind-the-Scenes Secrets from Porsha’s Wedding

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Candiace Dillard Bassett was among the 350 VIP guests at Porsha Williams’ two November weddings to Simon Guobadia, and you know she’s got all the tea on what went down at the private celebration.
While stopping by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, December 4, Candiace spilled some deets on The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s “stunning” nuptials. “The food was good, the cake was like 17,000 feet high, she changed 50 times,” the RHOP ’Wife revealed to host Andy Cohen.
Even so, there was one detail that Candiace wasn’t exactly a fan of, though she acknowledged it had a silver lining. “There was a no-phone policy, but it made you talk to people,” the “Drive Back” singer explained. “We couldn’t take any pictures, which was the one thing that I hated.”
Still, Porsha went to great lengths putting together the “top tier” guest lists for her wedding weekend, which kicked off with a Nigerian traditional native law and custom ceremony on November 25.
“Our guest list was taken very seriously … we hand picked each person and wanted them to be there because they have shown us nothing but love and support over the years and/or time we have known them!” the RHOA alum explained in the caption of a December 3 post-wedding Instagram post, showcasing several “bomb ass photoshoot booth” pics. “Even though it was over 300 guest[s] each person’s smile and genuine love and amazing energy was felt all day and night [and] needed!! We are very intentional in how we move and want you all to know we will be calling on [you] all through the future years of marriage and we will in return be there for you as well.”
Naturally, only one guest could snag Porsha’s bouquet. The bride’s sister, Lauren Williams, who also served as maid of honor, made an admirable effort, but in the end she lost out to another family member.
“Baby Bouquet toss is serious business!!” Porsha captioned another December 3 social media video of the grand moment. “My Aunt Darlene did not come to play, it was bout two left but she sho’ about to be NEXT.”
