Luann de Lesseps Reveals the “Truth” About Her Apparent Run-In with Bethenny Frankel
The “Feelin Jovani” singer also stepped out with her ex on the same night that she saw Bethenny.
The Real Housewives of New York City’s Luann de Lesseps is saying “Chic C’est La Vie” to this recent headline.
On March 24, Page Six reported that The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip alum “left in a huff” during intermission on the opening-night performance of Bad Cinderella on Broadway because she was originally seated next to her former RHONY castmate Bethenny Frankel.
Now Luann is setting the record straight, sharing that the rumor about her leaving because of a run-in with Bethenny is “not really” what happened during the musical.
The cabaret performer posted a video on Instagram featuring some snippets from the aforementioned article in the background. Luann then revealed the “truth.”
“If you want the truth and nothing but the truth, somebody’s gotta set you straight. I’m telling ya, I didn’t leave because of Bethenny,” Luann said before singing a few bars of her song “Viva La Diva.”
The “Money Can’t Buy You Class” songstress didn’t elaborate further on her time at Bad Cinderella, but her reunion with Bethenny wasn’t the only thing to cause a stir during the show.
Luann’s date to the performance was actually her ex-boyfriend, Jacques Azoulay. The pair posed for photos together on the red carpet, and the New Yorker also shared a snapshot from the event on her Instagram feed.
“YAS,” she wrote in the caption, along with the fist bump emoji. “It’s Jacques.”
As RHONY fans may remember, the former countess dated the Frenchman for four years before the duo split in 2013. At the time, Luann said the two wanted “different things” because Jacques was interested in having children, while Luann’s kids were already grown up.
Jacques popped back up on the show during Season 12 back in 2020 to dine with Luann and later to perform a stand-up routine during the anti-bullying comedy show she hosted.
Though the two have not been romantically involved for more than a decade, Luann considers her ex-boyfriend to be “family.”
