How Gia Giudice Is Handling the Drama Between Mom Teresa and Uncle Joe Gorga
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member shared her daughter’s thoughts on the ongoing family feud during WWHL.
Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga aren't the only ones being affected by their ongoing feud.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member revealed on the December 5 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that her daughter, Gia Giudice, is also not happy with Joe's disparaging comments about Teresa and Luis "Louie" Ruelas. As fans may recall — and as a WWHL viewer pointed out during the show — Joe said that he expects his stand-up career to last longer than the newlyweds' marriage.
As such, the fan asked for Teresa's response to the comment and whether or not it's put a strain on Joe and Gia's relationship. "I mean, she unfollowed him on Instagram," Teresa said of Gia; hesitant to go on and simply adding, "He's my brother."
And while Teresa admitted that she found the comment about her marriage to be "really hurtful," she ultimately said, "I wish that his comedy career is successful."
Joe made the diss at BravoCon 2022, but it certainly wasn't the first time his words upset both Teresa and her daughters. RHONJ Season 12 was particularly difficult for Joe and his nieces after certain comments he made about their dad, Joe Giudice. Gia confronted him for being "disrespectful" at one point, and while the family reconciled thereafter, it wasn't long before Teresa and Joe were having issues again.
The rift has since taken its toll on several family members, but as Gia told Us Weekly in October, "I’m just also trying to be the bigger person."
Joe's wife and Teresa's RHONJ cast mate Melissa Gorga also gave her take on the drama at BravoCon 2022. "There’s always highs and lows for us in our relationship,” she told E! News. “I would say right now is definitely one of our lows. We are family, and I think right now the family just needs a little time."
