Caroline Stanbury Responds to Chanel Ayan’s Shade About Husband Sergio Carrallo

Chanel Ayan may not have been able to attend Caroline Stanbury and Sergio Carrallo’s wedding featured on the July 27 episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai, but the supermodel definitely made an impact on the occasion. She and Caroline memorably got into some drama at the engagement party after Ayan showed up in a look that was a little too bridal for Caroline’s liking.
Of course, this moment has had fans talking. So when Caroline appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on July 27, the “No. 1 question” among viewers for the Dubai Housewife was why she was “so bothered” by Ayan’s outfit at her engagement party, and she clarified her feelings on the matter. “I think what did it for me watching it back, I’ve understood what I meant was ‘train,’ not ‘veil.’ She was wearing a train, which really bothered me because brides wear a train. And she put on a blonde wig,” Caroline explained. “Come on, people. She came as me.”
But Andy Cohen asked Caroline to give Ayan the benefit of the doubt and consider the possibility that the look was “a tribute.” “You think Ayan paid tribute to me?” Caroline asked in response. “If I was dead, maybe!”
When it comes to events on this season of RHODubai, we have often seen Sergio accompany Caroline and socialize with the other women, including one particularly notable discussion with Lesa Milan. On Wednesday night’s WWHL, Andy read a question from one fan who was wondering why Caroline always seems to bring Sergio to these events, and if it’s because she’s “incapable of standing on [her] own against the ladies.”
“It’s not about standing on my own against the ladies at all. If anything, he always sides with the ladies, unfortunately for me [laughs],” Caroline said on WWHL. “I just like having him around. He’s my best friend.”
That was definitely made clear by all the secrets Caroline spilled on WWHL about her relationship with Sergio, including details about their sex life, their plans for raising a child together, and Sergio’s access to Caroline’s social media passwords. What’s not so secret about Sergio is his comfort in expressing his emotions, as we’ve seen during this season of RHODubai. He noticeably shed some tears during his wedding to Caroline. “People cry for different reasons. Is it out of love and excitement, or he just doesn’t know what he was getting himself into?” Ayan pondered in an interview during the July 27 episode of RHODubai after hearing about Sergio’s weepy moment. “Or gas. Gas can make you cry.”
During Wednesday’s WWHL After Show, a member of the virtual audience asked Caroline for her response to Ayan’s shade about Sergio, particularly the part about him possibly crying because he “doesn’t know what he was getting himself into.”
“She also said it could’ve been gas, so I’m going with the gas?” Caroline jokes in the clip at the top of this post.
All kidding aside, Caroline actually got quite sentimental while opening up about her wedding to Sergio in BravoTV.com’s exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the couple’s prep for their big day. “I must have been really good in a past life, I just don’t get it. Most people go through their whole life not being able to find someone that ever loves them this way, and Sergio just has opened me up to an unconditional love that truly is unconditional,” Caroline gushed. “It is a fairy tale. Literally a fairy tale. Like, I feel on top of the world.”
