Vicki Gunvalson Shares New Details About Her Split from Steve Lodge: “I Don’t Know What Happened”
The RHUGT cast member and RHOC alum also revealed what happened to her engagement ring post-breakup.
In the season premiere of Peacock’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club, Vicki Gunvalson drove up to Blue Stone Manor fresh off her breakup from Steve Lodge (literally — they broke up the day before she arrived in the Berkshires). And when she set her bags down in Dorinda Medley’s lavish home for the Season 2 getaway, she was reeling from the split.
“He broke up with me,” she told several of the women in the June 23 premiere, now streaming on Peacock, after Tamra Judge spilled to the group that her BFF was single again.
Vicki added in an interview in the episode, “Steve and I were together almost six years, engaged for two and a half. We are now officially broken up. My heart is broken and I don’t know what happened.”
While sitting with the ladies, however, she recalled the events leading to the split: “A year ago I bought a place in Mexico, and he decided to live there more than California.”
Vicki noted that while she wasn’t always there with Steve when he was at her home in Mexico, he told her that no one else had contributed to the split. “I have a ring, we got engaged, we didn’t have a wedding date,” she shared. She noted that she was not planning to give back the ring because she “bought it. The ring that he could afford was not what I wanted, so I’m good with buying my own ring.”
BTW, she also shared a new detail about their relationship, revealing that their love life had changed prior to the breakup and confirming that they hadn’t “had sex in 13 months” at the time their relationship ended.
In Episode 2 of the current season of RHUGT, also streaming now on Peacock, she added that there were plans for Steve to move out, noting that her “biggest fear is being single and alone.”
The news of Vicki and Steve’s breakup first made headlines back in September. Vicki and Steve began dating in the spring of 2016 after meeting at a Boys & Girls Clubs charity event in Anaheim years prior. They confirmed their engagement in April 2019 before ultimately going their separate ways. In the months since their split, Vicki, for the record, has confirmed she is dating again and has even gone Instagram official with the new guy in her life.
The first three of Season 2’s seven episodes are available on premiere day, Thursday, June 23, with a new episode available to stream each Thursday thereafter. Of course, fans can also binge Season 1 of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip on Peacock now.
