Sutton Stracke Gets More Candid Than Ever About Her Ex-Husband and Their Divorce

Sutton Stracke is ready to take back her power!
Since joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in Season 10, the haute couture lover has allowed fans into her life like never before, revealing details on her finances, dating life, and co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband, Christian Stracke.
And on the Season 13 premiere of RHOBH, which aired on October 25, viewers were able to get a bit more clarity on Sutton's former marriage as she shed light into her life at the time and her divorce. Read on for details.
Sutton Stracke discusses her first marriage
As revealed in her confessional, Sutton and Christian tied the knot in 2000 with a NYC wedding. “When my ex-husband and I got married, we were on equal footing,” she explained. Sutton noted that she stopped working after she got pregnant with her first child.
“My power diminished,” she said, “this became here’s your allowance.”
Sutton went on to mention how not having a job forced her to depend on her husband for money, which she wanted to break free of. “I realized, wow, I allowed that to happen. I will never allow that to happen again,” she added.
Sutton Stracke explains her spousal support to Jennifer Tilly
During the episode, Sutton opened up to her longtime friend, Jennifer Tilly, about wanting to show her “success” to her ex-husband despite receiving financial support.
“Spousal support – they come with an anchor,” Sutton told Jennifer. “I’m not going to give that up… but I don’t want the anchor. I don’t want it. I want complete freedom.”
At this point, images of news headlines displaying the amount of money Sutton received from her divorce settlement appeared onscreen. However, Sutton clarified that she “earned” those funds since she and Christian “built” their fortune together.
As for Sutton’s main goal post-divorce, it’s for her to build herself up and show her kids that “financial autonomy is liberating.”
How Sutton Stracke feels about her ex-husband
Sutton and Christian may have come to an understanding of their marriage, but the RHOBH ‘Wife would like to still hear some positive words from her ex-lover.
“I want my ex-husband to say, ‘I remember you, you’re smart, and you’re capable. You don’t just make lunches and dinner,’” she said in an interview before quoting Cher: “I’m strong enough.”
Who is Sutton Stracke’s ex-husband?
Sutton was previously married to Christian Stracke, whom she has known since childhood. The two said “I Do” in May 2000 and divorced in 2016. Sutton and Christian share three kids together: daughter Porter and sons Philip and James. Porter and Philip have both made appearances on RHOBH.
