Phaedra Parks Explains Why She Actually Divorced Apollo Nida Twice

Phaedra Parks has found love again.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum revealed earlier in this season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip that she is “in love now.” But when Dorinda Medley asked how she met her new mystery man, Phaedra replied, “I can’t tell you that. Not on this camera.”

Phaedra then explained in an interview during the episode why she’s not quite ready to go public with her new relationship just yet. “I am a Scorpio, honey, so I am very private,” she said. “Being in the public eye makes it extremely hard to date, because you don’t know who’s being real and who’s in it for possibly fame, fortune, and big booty.”

Still, Tamra Judge hoped to get more details out of Phaedra in episode 6 of the Peacock original series (new episodes drop every Thursday). Phaedra did spill a little bit more tea, sharing that her new special someone is a physician and is “a good guy.”

He has also met Phaedra’s sons, Ayden, 12, and Dylan, 9. “He’s really good with children,” Phaedra shared in an interview during the episode. “And he’s been calling me every night to just encourage me, tell me he loves me. And so, it’s been really sweet.”

When Tamra asked Phaedra how long she’s been divorced, she shared that she was “divorced twice… but from the same person.”

That person, of course, is Phaedra’s ex-husband, Apollo Nida. “Our divorce was final, and he appealed it. And they granted the appeal,” Phaedra explained to Tamra. “That only happens 1 percent of the time.”

“On what grounds did he appeal it? I don’t want a f--king divorce?” Tamra asked, to which Phaedra replied, “Basically.”

Though things seem to be going well between Phaedra and her new beau, she’s not sure if she would ever want to get married again someday. “I don’t know if I want to get into a marital situation,” Phaedra said on RHUGT. “Let’s have some fun, then you go home and pee on your own toilet. I like my bidet crystal clean and fresh.”

Phaedra also noted to Tamra, “You never really know anyone until you’re in a divorce with them.”

Phaedra and Apollo have certainly gone through their ups and downs while navigating their divorce and co-parenting Ayden and Dylan. However, Phaedra shared during a June appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she and her ex-husband are in a great place these days. “Apollo and I, obviously, have these wonderful two young men. Love. And so we get along very well. I just spoke to him 10, 15 minutes ago,” Phaedra shares in the clip at the top of this post. “Yeah, we have a good relationship. We co-parent very well.”
