Luann de Lesseps Says Friendship with Jacques Azoulay "Will Last a Lifetime"
The Real Housewives of New York City Countess gave an update on her relationship with her ex-boyfriend.
Throughout her 10 seasons on The Real Housewives of New York City, we've watched Luann de Lesseps navigate many changes in her life. We've seen her children grow up, her family expand (by adopting a dog, Aston, who is now 12!), and we've seen Luann go from married wife of Count Alexandre de Lesseps to single lady about town to wife again to divorced and newly single cabaret star. One of the most memorable men Luann dated after her divorce from the Count was Jacques Azoulay, whom she was with for years before breaking up in 2013. But do they stay in touch?
"Jacques is like my family," Luann recently told The Daily Dish podcast. In fact, she had a funny story to share about their time together — and a certain fan who loved seeing them as a couple.
"One day I was with Jacques and we were walking to a restaurant on the Upper West Side and this woman jumps up from a table ... And she comes up to me and she goes, 'I just wanted to say hello; I love you on the show.' And I'm like, 'Holy sh--, it's Tina Fey!'" (Of course, Tina Fey isn't the Countess' only celebrity admirer; Jennifer Lawrence similarly fangirled out when Luann surprised her on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.)
When asked if there was any chance of Luann reuniting with Jacques, Luann explained his current relationship status, "No. He's got a girlfriend. Actually, his girlfriend is a good friend of someone who's in production on our show, so it's interesting ... Small world. He actually met her at a party I took him to last summer in the Hamptons. So, I was like, 'Oh, Jacques, I see you're hanging around that girl.' I'm not jealous; I'm happy for him because we're not together; we're just friends. And our friendship will last a lifetime."
Luann has a habit of staying friends with exes; she describes her relationship with the Count (whom she divorced in 2009) as "very close."
So does Luann think she will get to a similar friendly place with her most recent ex-husband, Tom D'Agostino? "Never say never," she teased.
