Phaedra and Apollo Come Together to Celebrate Their Youngest Son's Birthday
The RHOA and RHUGT alum posted sweet family photos from the celebration.
Phaedra Parks can seemingly do it all. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has found success as a lawyer, author, TV producer, and even a funeral director. But her role as a loving mother and devoted co-parent is, perhaps, the most admirable, as she never fails to put her two children first. Case in point? Phaedra's recent reunion with her ex-husband, Apollo Nida.
Earlier this week, the multi-hyphenate hosted a birthday party for her and Apollo's youngest son, Dylan, who turned 10 on May 8. Phaedra highlighted the event in an Instagram post, which included photos of “Mr. President” posing with a cookie cake, opening gifts, and enjoying the day with loved ones. The carousel concluded with a sweet family photo that showed the birthday boy with his smiling parents and older brother, Ayden.
The heartwarming post immediately garnered thousands of comments, many of which praised Phaedra for including Apollo in the event, despite their years-long and highly publicized divorce battle. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip alum married Apollo in 2009 and filed for separation about five years later. Although their relationship experienced many ups and downs, Phaedra said she and Apollo have since established an amicable partnership for the sake of their kids.
She elaborated on their co-parenting situation during a 2022 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, insisting there was no bad blood between her and Apollo.
“Yeah, we have a good relationship. We co-parent very well,” she said. “You know what? I don’t know why people think there’s some sort of animosity between me and my ex-husband. I mean, people don’t realize it, but we dated from high school. So, we’ve known each other longer than most couples have been married… We’ll always be friends because we know each other. That connection is a lifetime connection.”
She continued: “I think any good parent has to have the first priority [and that] is what’s in the best interest of children. And what’s in the best children of every child is to have the benefit of both parents.”
Phaedra continued Dylan’s birthday celebration on May 12, when she went to his school and treated his classmates to Chick-fil-A. The mother posted videos and photos from the surprise lunch, which included a cake and his class’ rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.”
