Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Ciara Reveals the "Deeper" Meaning Behind Paget's "Practical Gift"

Paget Berry gave Ciara Duggan a brow-furrowing gift for her birthday in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1 finale, which aired on May 25.

Parsifal III's first mate first shared that he had ordered his girlfriend a Leatherman, a brand of multi-tools and knives, for her birthday while chatting with Byron Hissey, who didn't seem too impressed with the present (clip above). "Don't look at me like that, like I'm a piece of s--t," Paget said, to which Byron asked, "Who buys a Leatherman for their girlfriend?"

Paget then assured Byron that the Leatherman was "one of her presents," although he didn't have anything else for Ciara just yet.

It finally came time for Paget to give Ciara her birthday gift. When the deckhand opened the bag and discovered a Leatherman inside, she was absolutely ecstatic and gave Paget a big hug and a kiss. "I love practical birthday gifts," Ciara said of the present in an interview during the episode.

Ciara later confirmed on Twitter that the Leatherman wasn't the only gift from Paget. "Unfortunately the rest of my gift from Paget was never shown on TV but he actually wrote me a really sweet letter and read it during dinner as well as gave me a €1500 flight voucher to go towards a trip to Bali at the end of the season," she tweeted.

In fact, Ciara and Paget did end up going to Bali to celebrate after the charter season ended. You can get a glimpse of their romantic getaway in the lovely photo below, recently posted by Paget on Instagram.

Ciara also noted on Twitter that the Leatherman meant more to her than just something that would come in handy while working on a yacht. "Also the Leatherman was an acknowledgement that I was part of the deck team even though it's not my usual department," she explained. "So it goes deeper than just a 'practical gift.'" 

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht couple is still going strong today as Ciara and Paget work together on a boat in Italy. Ciara reflected on this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht by sharing some adorable photos of her and Paget filming interviews for the season on Instagram following the finale. "Well that was a rollercoaster," Ciara captioned the series of photos. "What an experience."
