Cynthia Bailey Says She's Nene Leakes' "Girl," While Marlo Hampton "Is Like a Side Chick"
The RHOA crew breaks down Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore's confrontation in Greece.
Friendships are always changing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but the sisterhood between Nene Leakes and Marlo Hampton has remained a constant throughout the seasons. However, Cynthia Bailey is disputing the closeness of their bond.
While breaking down whether or not Nene actually did spit in Kenya Moore's face during the girls' trip to Greece, Cynthia said during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 After Show that she felt like it was up to her — and not Marlo — to break things up between the beefing Georgia Peaches.
"I even went over and sat by Nene because I really wanted to be that kind of positive reinforcement in that whole situation because I really feel like at the end of the day with as much history as I've had with Nene, I'm Nene's girl, and Marlo's like a side chick," Cynthia explained. "I'm always gonna be like, hey, hey, hey, bring it back. Love, light, I'm gonna do all that."
Even though Cynthia and Nene have fallen out over the years and had just gotten back to a good place prior to the ladies' Grecian getaway, it sounds like the RHOA model will always be there for her friend when she needs her most.
Other members of the RHOA squad tried to break up Nene and Kenya's conflict, including Tanya Sam who recalled during the After Show, "I was actually looking at production like, 'Aren't you gonna stop this?!' It was madness."
However, Porsha Williams quickly learned that there was no stopping Nene and Kenya. "Y'all know I have been here for what, seven years, and I have been through some of the worst arguments. I'm never usually trying to control it because I'm probably in it, but I was trying to control them, and it was not happening!" she said during the After Show. "Nobody could say anything else or do anything else because when they started at each other, the party was done. It was ruined."
Marlo offered Nene some sage wisdom in how to handle any friction with Kenya in the future. "So next time she comes for you, just walk away," Marlo told her friend in the After Show. "Say, 'You know what, not today.'"
