NeNe Leakes: I Got Buzzed for My Housewives Audition
Nervous NeNe? Apparently such a thing exists!
You usually would not put the term nervous and NeNe Leakes in a sentence, but apparently that is exactly how the brazen star was feeling right before her Real Housewives of Atlanta audition.
"I was really nervous [the casting director was] coming over so I had wine instead of having breakfast, because my nerves were taking over!" she told E!'s Giuliana Rancic in her tell-all interview, which premiered last night.
"I was drinking and when she rang the doorbell and I opened it, I said "Helloooo and welcome, honey," NeNe recalls. The boozy morning meeting was clearly a success as NeNe not only landed the gig that led her to stardom, but also helped pave the way for Housewives history. "By the end of the interview she said to me, 'You know, you are very interesting. Who are your friends?'" NeNe reveals with a laugh.
The busy Housewife and Glee star is on the mend after a dangerous health scare that landed her in the hospital last month. "It's been tough, but I've been pretty strong. I'm coming back," she said, adding that she feels she is currently at about 80%.
