NeNe Leakes: My Health Crisis Has Been Tough
The RHOA star reveals how she's recovering from blood clots.
One month after going to the hospital for blood clots, NeNe Leakes may be back in fighting form, but that doesn't mean she has a clean bill of health—yet.
"I'm not 100 percent, but I'm trying to get there," the Real Housewives of Atlanta star tells E!. "It's been tough, but I've been pretty strong. I'm coming back."
Indeed: last week, NeNe flew to Los Angeles to start working once again on Glee, where she's reprising her role as Coach Roz.
But she's taking precautions to make sure her health is in check with proper medication. "It takes about six weeks to really get back to feeling yourself," she says. "But I'm on blood thinners now. I would have to say I'm about 80 percent. I'm doing alot better."
Her busy schedule won't let up, either. NeNe says she'll spend Christmas with her family in Atlanta, but after that, she's hightailing it to Las Vegas to ring in the New Year. And she reveals she's also on a search for a new home. "I'm sure [my new home] won't come by Christmas," she says. "It's the only gift on my list. I'm going to have my dream home in Atlanta and then I will always have a condo in Los Angeles because I'm always there.
Tonight, E! will broadcast a tell-all interview with NeNe. It'll be one of her most revealing sit-downs ever: she'll open up about her difficult childhood, stardom, remarrying Gregg Leakes and her past as an exotic dancer. E! Entertainment Special: NeNe Leakes airs at 10p ET/PT.
Send your well-wishes to NeNe for a speedy recovery in the comments.
