Paulina’s Kids Are Now the “Highlight” of Mike Shouhed’s Life
The Shahs of Sunset cast member reveals how having kids in his life has changed him.
Mike Shouhed is opening up about what it's like watching girlfriend Paulina Ben-Cohen's two kids from her previous marriage grow up. The Shahs of Sunset cast member also shed some light on how he's been bonding with her two youngins these days.
"It’s exhausting helping raise 2 kids! They are full of energy, they test boundaries, 4 year old learning to be potty trained, 7 year learning to read...summer time [and] being home is driving them a little crazy too. Poor babies," he tweeted. "But they are the highlight of my life [and] give purpose."
It's not the first time Mike has opened up about his relationship with Paulina's children and he's been candid about wanting to have children with her some day as well.
"I never thought I could love two babies that were not my own offspring as much as I love them. Like, when I come over to Paulina's house, they rush to see me, ‘Mikey! Mikey! Mikey!’ Regardless of how hard of a day I had, they give me life and they give me energy again, it's so amazing to watch them grow up and, at six and four, the way they communicate, like, dude. I wish I was as smart as you two when I was that age. Like, the 6-year-old negotiates with me to get chocolate and candy and sushi and I'm like, how do you know already?" he said.
He added at the time: "I love these two like they are my own, I want one or two or three of my own. [Paulina’s] young, and she makes me feel young, and we are going to try, let's see."
Though he recently admitted adjusting to having kids around took some getting used to, he now embraces the evolution of his life.
“I had no idea what I was getting involved in. I just knew that I love her so much, that I’m like ‘Alright, whatever, I’ll carry any of the baggage of your life on your shoulders and making it my own,'" he explained. “I quickly went from thinking it’s baggage to thinking it’s blessings. I love her kids.”
It should be noted Mike recently welcomed a teacup French bulldog, Tito, into his family.
