Here's What Happened After Mike Shouhed, Nema Vand, and Shervin Roohparvar Got Kicked off a Plane
A big surprise was waiting for the Shahs of Sunset guys after they got off the flight.
Mike Shouhed, Nema Vand, and Shervin Roohparvar didn't have the best start to their trip to Phoenix, Arizona in the March 20 episode of Shahs of Sunset.
As the guys traveled from Los Angeles to Phoenix for Destiney Rose's MMA event, they ran into a delay at the airport. "We're late to Phoenix because we got kicked off a plane in L.A. for being Middle Eastern," Nema said during an interview in the episode.
Mike then described the incident: "We're walking to our seats that were saved by another friend. The gentleman, he saw that and ran to take our seats. I was guilty before the flight attendant even came up to me. She already made up her mind that I'm gonna get off the plane. She didn't want to hear our story."
He added, "People who look like me are discriminated against."
Mike, Nema, and Shervin were met with a surprise after they got off the plane — and a pleasant one at that. According to a post from Nema on Instagram on March 21, the Shahs of Sunset guys were recognized by a group of police officers, who asked if they could take a selfie with them in the airport, and they were more than happy to oblige.
"Moments after getting kicked off a plane, the [LAPD] asked us for a selfie. I felt like it should have been the other way around because these guys are the true heroes," Nema wrote in the post. "Yes being asked off a plane was a surreal experience, but the world needs positivity in this moment. We are all one family whether we like it or not."
Mike also shared on Instagram that he was glad he got the chance to meet these "fine men [and] women."
