Meredith Marks Reveals Exactly How Many Homes She Has — and Why She Rents (EXCLUSIVE)
Meredith Marks explained why she pays "a huge premium" to rent her houses during the RHOSLC After Show.
Meredith Marks is a woman of the world — we've known it since she first stepped onto our screens for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 1 in 2020. And now, after years of hearing rumors and nastiness about her real estate proclivities, she's sharing some insight into her house-renting ways.
During the above episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show, Meredith explained why exactly her family chooses to rent their homes rather than buy.
"Meredith, you have an interesting perspective. Let's talk rentals in Park City," said a producer as four of the Marks family's past residences flashed onscreen.
Meredith was happy to dive in. "I have three residences right now. I'm far from homeless, and yes, I rent," she said. "Times are tough. My 'friends' who think that's so offensive should probably be apologizing to all the renters in the United States and worldwide."
"As you guys know, Seth [Marks] and I were on the verge of a divorce. We had sold our house in Park City shortly before that — we didn't think we were staying married," she continued. "After that, our kids were all out of the house. We were empty nesters. I'm an avid traveler, and I really just wanted no responsibility and no ties down."
Meredith Marks Shares New Details on Where She Rents Homes
Meredith went on to explain where she spends her time throughout the year.
"I spend four to six months of the year in Park City, and I spend the rest of the year between New York, LA, a little bit of Miami, Europe, and a little bit of Asia sometimes," she said. "That's kind of my life. It's not so bad."
Meredith Marks reflects on her past homes seen on RHOSLC
Of all the gorgeous homes Meredith has lived in on RHOSLC, she has a soft spot for the abode seen on Season 2.
"I loved the views, for starters. It was like, major," she said. "It wasn't as big a property as my house this past season, it was on a large enough property that I didn't feel like anyone was on top of me. I liked that speakeasy office. This whole house was my vibe."
And yes, she admitted she pays a "huge premium" to be up in Park City. But she loves it.
"I have fun in Salt Lake, but I love Park City," she explained. "There's just something about the whole ski resort vibe that is very zen for me. It's very peaceful."
Heather Gay chimed in to say that the "hoity toity" yet "lowkey" feeling is very Meredith.
"It's a mountain town, but it's high fashion," she said.
Though the house she rented in Season 5 wasn't her absolute favorite, Meredith would pick that property over any other.
"Hands down, over anywhere else, that size of a piece of land in Park Meadows is just phenomenal and not that common. But I'd like to have that other house on it," she explained.
Is Meredith Marks building a new house?
Meredith and Seth are considering building a new house. In the video above, Meredith explained that because it's "very, very difficult" to find modern houses in Park City, she and her husband are discussing creating their own.
"We might have to build," she said. "We're actually talking about it," she said. "I really don't want to, but we might do it."
