Melissa Gorga Reveals What She Thinks "Caused a Little Tension" with Kathy Wakile

In case you're wondering, Melissa Gorga is still not in contact with her cousin-in-law and The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum, Kathy Wakile, as well as Kathy's sister, Rosie Pierri. When Melissa sat down in the Clubhouse on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, she opened up about the family rift, calling the situation "just unfortunate that it happened."

Still, Melissa did have some nice things to say about the Wakiles and their brood despite the longstanding beef. "Good people, amazing children," she noted about her estranged relatives.

But as for what she thinks "caused a little tension," as Melissa put it on WWHL this week, well, she offered up her theory in the video above.

Kathy officially joined RHONJ during Season 3, the same season as Melissa. Kathy exited after Season 5, but did make appearances with sister, Rosie, during Seasons 6 and 7. And it was clear during that time that things were definitely tense between the Gorga-Giudices and the Wakile-Pierris, as you can see below.

Teresa Just Wants to Be Left Alone

Now we're in Season 9, and when Teresa Giudice stopped by The Daily Dish offices recently, she opened up about some of her drama with Melissa  and their struggles over the years, and how that tied back to her issues with her cousins.

"I think she knows and I know we're never gonna go to that dark place ever again. That was not a good time. A lot of other people involved, too, in the situation ... Melissa, Kathy, at the time, it was not a good time. I don't even want to remember that time because that's not really what our family's about. We're all about being there for each other, loving each other," Teresa explained. "So she knows it's never gonna go to that place again; I know it's never gonna go to that place again."

She continued about Melissa, "When you guys watch this season, you'll see it's coming from a good place. If you feel that you want to tell somebody something to help another situation, then you should voice your opinion, you should speak up and say it because if you keep your mouth shut, nothing's ever gonna get resolved. I'm sure people will relate to me in other families. Like if you keep your mouth shut and something's really bothering you, it's never gonna get fixed. But if you open your mouth and say what's bothering you and don't keep it inside, then you could resolve whatever that needs to be resolved."
