Mary Cosby Gives a New Update on Son Robert Jr. After His Return From Rehab (EXCLUSIVE)
Mary Cosby shared some positive news about her son, Robert Jr., on the RHOSLC After Show.
Season 5, Episode 14 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City showed Mary Cosby preparing to drop her son, Robert Cosby Jr., off at a rehab facility. And now, she's sharing an update on how her only child is doing.
During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show, Mary and Angie Katsanevas discussed Robert Jr.'s current well-being. "He's doing good. He did go to rehab," Mary said. "He was there for 30 days and I was like, 'No! Please stay longer!' He's like, 'I want to stay longer.'"
Mary said that she's really proud of her son and is now putting some new boundaries in place.
"He needs to earn that trust back with me," she said. "I still don't give him money. I don't want him to be around the people he was around prior, and he still kind of goes around them which is unhealthy and it just kind of scares me. 'Cause I know that's just like a spirit. And if you don't get away from it, it'll catch you and bond you up."
Mary also told Angie that she knows she can't control Robert Jr. She also doesn't try to.
"I let him learn through his mistakes," she said. "I feel like he needs time, he needs to simmer. Like, today I was getting dressed he's like, 'Mom, I need to get a job.' I'm like, 'Yeah, go get a job. Just so you can get out of the house every day and go do something. Keep yourself busy. 'Cause when you're just sitting around all you think about is old ways.'"

Mary added that Robert Jr. is going to the family's home in Las Vegas with his father, Robert Cosby Sr., to "take him away from all the triggers that are in our home here."

As for Robert Jr.'s partner and potential wife, despite some confusion, Mary said her son is likely not married.
"Now he's saying he [doesn't think] they're married," Mary revealed. "You know, like I always said. There's a certificate that you have to fill out once you get married, and you have to submit it and send it. And you have to sign it within 30 days. If you don't sign it, you're not married. Your marriage is, like, not existing. And so I called everywhere looking for it, and he's nowhere in the city county building [as] married. There's no marriage on them two."
Mary said that she's "praying" Robert Jr. isn't wed. The biggest problem in figuring it out for sure is that his marriage certificate is in his safe, and his safe is locked.
"He can't get it open. We need to hire somebody," she shared.
