Luis Ruelas Reacts to Being Called the “Teresa Whisperer” at BravoCon 2023

The Real Housewives of New Jersey couple dove into their relationship during a love-themed panel.

When Teresa Giudice cares about something, she cares deeply — those close to her (like her lovely daughters and husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas!) know this better than anyone.

During BravoCon 2023 Day 3, The Real Housewives of New Jersey duo attended a "Bravoleb Couples" panel moderated by Daryn Carp. During the conversation (which also included Ally Lewber and James Kennedy of Vanderpump Rules), the pairs got to talking about how having a spouse or partner is like having a built-in support system. Even if you disagree with each other, you have each other's backs — which is important on reality TV.

"I always try to put myself in his shoes and see how he's feeling," Teresa shared while talking about her husband getting "thrown to the wolves" on Housewives. "I'm really strong and I can't expect everyone to be just like me."

After hearing her answer, Daryn began discussing how she views the pair's relationship from a fan's perspective.

"I will say, watching you onscreen for so long, I feel like Louie and your daughters really know how to, like... you're the Teresa whisperers," she said, causing the businessman to grin. "They just give you a look and you're like, 'OK, I'm settled now. I'm back into it.'"

The moderator then told Louie he has "a way" of telling Teresa something isn't a big deal.

Unsurprisingly, he agreed with the assessment.

"Communication is key to taking a lot of pressure out of the situation: keeping it simple, easy, and standing by one another," he said. "Jersey is very competitive. It's very toxic. It can be dangerous sometimes."

Teresa noted that her husband of over a year (they wed in August 2022) has taught her how to communicate clearly and calmly.

"Except it doesn't always work," Louie joked.
