Luann De Lesseps And Sonja Morgan Say RHUGT: RHONY Legacy Is Different Than Season One
"Well, you know what they say about an old shoe. It feels comfortable," Sonja Morgan said of the bond of the housewives on Season 5 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
The housewives of the Big Apple are traveling to St. Barts (again) as several alumni from The Real Housewives of New York City get back together for an unforgettable vacation on the fifth season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, also called RHONY Legacy.
All the ‘Wives are posting teasers on social media from the trip, including this picture from Luann de Lesseps' Instagram of her and Ramona Singer, captioned #TurtleTime. De Lesseps and Singer are joined by Sonja Morgan, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Dorinda Medley and Kristen Taekman. The girls trip is back at Saline Beach, previously featured on Season 5 of RHONY.
This is the second Ultimate Girls Trip appearance for both Singer and de Lesseps, who joined the inaugural cast on Season One. Medley also appeared on Season 2, dubbed The Ex-Wives Club.

What makes RHONY Legacy different than RHUGT Season One?
“Season one of Ultimate Girls Trip was cool because I got to meet all the ladies from different franchises,” Luann told The Daily Dish in an interview. “I feel like that show, which was the very first, will feel very different for me on this Ultimate Girls Trip because it’s just the RHONY cast, you know? The O.G. cast.”
Sonja agreed, adding, “all the old bitches, here we are,” while de Lesseps referred to the cast as “the old gals, or the old guard.”
Luann previously told The Daily Dish she developed new friendships while filming season one in Turks and Caicos, including with The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore, The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards.
But Sonja and Luann, who are also appearing this summer on Bravo in the spinoff Luann & Sonja: Welcome To Crappie Lake, say the cast of Season 5 feels comfortable, like “an old shoe.”
“We all know each other so well, you know?” Luann said to The Daily Dish. “We’ve been working for years on RHONY, and I feel like this is gonna be a great show for us to reconnect, because we haven’t been together as a group in a while.”

Although Sonja, Luann, Ramona and Dorinda have appeared on RHONY seasons together in recent years, Kelly last appeared on the reality show in Season 4 in 2011, and Kristen last appeared in Season 7 in 2015. Sonja pointed out to The Daily Dish that it’ll be interesting to film with Kelly, who they haven’t filmed with in more than a decade.
“Though we really do swim in similar circles, so off camera, we do see them. We know what they’re doing. So it’s not like we’re not friends,” Sonja told The Daily Dish. “We know what’s going on in their lives and they know what’s going on in our lives.”
Luann agreed it won’t take much for the ladies to jump right back in to the deep end with each other.
“I think this fifth version is gonna be so cool because we know each other and we have for so long, and I think it’s gonna feel so different than any other girls trip,” Luann said.
