Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan compare Season 5 to a pivotal The Real Housewives of New York City trip — and reveal the pirate may make a comeback.
Fans are rightfully getting excited about the fifth season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, and now, former New York Housewives Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan are teasing us what they can expect from the trip now that filming for the season has concluded.
The current stars of Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake joined Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to discuss their new fish-out-of-water series, which Andy referred to as “the reboot of The Simple Life that we all needed.”
The pair also touched on filming RHUGT Season 5, as Andy asked them if they could give “any tea.”
They didn’t give too much away, though Luann did say, “It’s kinda Scary Island Part 2.” (You can watch more in the video, above.)
What Was RHONY 's "Scary Island"?
Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City will recall the buzz-worthy “Scary Island” fiasco in Season 3, Episode 12, with former ‘Wife Kelly Killoran Bensimon at the center.

The cast, which then included Sonja, Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, and Alex McCord, were vacationing on the Virgin Islands when their sit-down dinner was interrupted by a fight between Kelly and Bethenny, ending with Bethenny famously imploring Kelly to "go to sleep!"
The ruined dinner and its aftermath led to the cast trip being dubbed "Scary Island" by fans and cast alike.
What to Expect in RHUGT Season 5
Earlier this year, it was announced Kelly would join some of the other RHONY ‘Wives for RHUGT Season 5.
Kelly is slated to return to Bravo alongside Sonja, Luann, Ramona, Dorinda Medley, and Kristen Taekman for RHUGT. The RHONY alums vacationed in St. Bart’s for this iteration of the series.
Fans have already gotten tiny morsels of what’s to come, including group photos and TikTok videos of the women in bikinis. Some cast members even teased their predictions before the trip happened.
“I don’t think it’s gonna be smooth sailing,” Luann previously said when discussing what she anticipated the trip, which recently wrapped filming, to be like.
It’s been a minute since RHONY fans saw Kelly, who left the show in Season 4, and Kristen, who was a cast member for Seasons 6 and 7.
Luann and Sonja, playing “The BFF Test” with Andy on the July 9, 2023, episode of WWHL, were asked which of the two returning ‘Wives was most iconic, with both answering: “Kelly.”
