Dorinda Medley Reacts to Luann de Lesseps' Fiance's Cheating Rumors
"I would have probably handled it differently," the #RHONY mom said of revealing the news to her castmate.
Last week's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City was a shocker as Bethenny Frankel alleged that Luann de Lesseps' fiancé Thomas D'Agostino Jr. had been unfaithful to the Countess (clip above). But what was it like to witness the couple's drama in person?
Dorinda Medley dished on what went through her mind during the scene, which will have its dramatic conclusion in Wednesday night's Season 8 finale. "My take on their relationship, it's their relationship, and that's what I feel like people should respect," Dorinda said during a recent interview with PEOPLE NOW. "You go through things, we've all made mistakes. I'm a forgiver. I am. And I just think it's up to what Luann and Tom choose to do."
Dorinda confirmed that Luann and Tom have chosen to stay together and go through with their wedding. "They love each other, the marriage is on, the save the dates are out, and it's all about going forward," she said. "I don't want to talk about the past anymore. I think it was such a difficult thing to not only go through at the time but to now relive again. I'm trying to respect her privacy and support them both."
Along those lines, Dorinda said she doesn't exactly agree with the way Bethenny handled the situation. "I think that it was very sensitive information. I would have probably handled it differently," she explained. "I probably would have told them right away. I wish she had come to me, and you'll see a little bit of that. I wish she had gone to Lu directly, and I think it was difficult to watch it play out over the weekend. That was the difficult part for me."
Even though we've seen Luann shed a lot of tears over the controversy, and it looks like emotions will continue to run high in the season finale, Dorinda told PEOPLE NOW that she believes the couple has only gotten stronger since. "Life, marriage, friendships, they're the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that defines if they're gonna stay or not," she said. "If they make it through this with this public scrutiny, I think they're good to go."
