Luann de Lesseps Confirms She's Drinking Again: "I’m Toasting to a Happy New Year Ahead"
The RHONY cabaret performer is ready for "2020 vision all the way."
Luann de Lesseps confirmed to PEOPLE that she's decided to start drinking again occasionally. The publication notes that The Real Housewives of New York City cabaret performer took her time to come to the decision to allow herself to drink again.
“New Year’s has been a time of reflection. I’ve learned a great deal about myself, and I’m in a very good place and finally back in the drivers seat," she said. “I’ve always said my journey is day by day. I’m toasting to a happy new year ahead!”
Her decision comes after she wrapped up her probation in connection with her 2017 arrest back in August 2019. “Hi my friends, I’m happy to say after a difficult year… I’ve made it through! I’m humbled and grateful for this life lesson and ready to put the past behind me and move on with my life," she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Wish me luck! Thank you for your undying support over the year. Love always, Luann.”
The cabaret singer also touched upon closing that chapter in her life on WWHL during BravoCon in November 2019 (clip above). “It feels great. It's behind me and I can move on in my life and be a badass with all the Housewives of New York again,” she said at the time.
Luann has been to treatment twice in connection with her past struggles with alcohol, but she seems to be focused on the future with a new year and decade upon us to cheers. "So happy to put 2019 behind me! 2020 vision all the way," she wrote on Instagram.
She also added: "Starting 2020 with positivity."
