Lindsay Hubbard Addresses Claims She Was "Faking [Her] Tears" After Carl Radke Split
The Summer House cast member said it was "hurtful" to see her castmates pull back their support following her breakup.
In the months following her shocking split from Carl Radke, Lindsay Hubbard consistently praised her Summer House “girls” for all the “love” and “support” they showed during her time of need. But as Lindsay’s relationship struggles played out in Season 8, some of her castmates started changing their tunes and questioned her account of the dramatic breakup.
“That was really disappointing for me to see and quite honestly, it was really hurtful, because it made me question their support in one of the toughest, most humiliating moments of my life,” Lindsay said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “This doesn’t even involve teams, just support me for the humiliation I had just gone through very publicly or have support for something bad that happens to somebody.”
Summer House ladies rally around Lindsay Hubbard after Carl Radke split
Paige DeSorbo was among the housemates who expressed skepticism over Lindsay’s post-split claims and behavior. The New York-based influencer had seemingly sympathized with Lindsay in the Summer House Season 8 finale, in which she and her castmates Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, and Gabby Prescod rallied behind Lindsay just days after Carl called off their engagement.
After a visibly upset Lindsay entered Danielle's Brooklyn apartment, the Summer House women reassured her everything would be OK. Tears were shed and laughs were shared before the housemates capped things off with a group hug. However, Paige shed more light on the meetup on the Summer House Season 8 After Show, saying Lindsay’s emotions seemed inauthentic.

Paige DeSorbo & Ciara Miller question Lindsay's account of her breakup
“I felt bad for her, but I know Lindsay, and Lindsay is Lindsay,” Paige explained. “When she does her crying, no tears, I can’t align with it. It’s very hard for me to then believe anything that comes out of her mouth.”
Ciara echoed the sentiment: “Whenever she recounts a story, she’s always 110% always the victim. There’s never anything that she could have done or said that was problematic or wrong, so I know when she’s telling a story, there’s two sides to the story. There’s Lindsay’s side, there’s Carl’s side, there’s the truth, and there’s somewhere in between that.”
Lindsay says it was "really hurtful" to hear her castmates' doubts
Lindsay addressed the “crying” with “no tears” comment during her Rolling Stone chat, insisting her reaction was very real, as she was completely “blindsided” by Carl’s decision.
“To then watch someone talk about how I was faking my tears — I don’t even know how to fake tears,” she said. “Or them saying that [Carl] didn’t actually break up with me. It was just really hurtful… I’m still standing by the fact that I was blindsided. Why did you get engaged to begin with if you’re that quick to run away and not talk through your issues?… I asked him to get a job and then he broke up with me.”
