What Happened to Larsa Pippen in Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Miami?
A lot changed for this Housewife during (and then after) her first year filming in the Magic City.
Larsa Pippen was an original cast member on Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Miami when it premiered in 2011. She left the show for Seasons 2 and 3, but returned for Season 4 (which premiered in December 2021 after an eight-year hiatus) and has been on ever since.
In Season 1, Larsa found herself at odds with a few of the women, including Adriana De Moura, Marysol Patton, and Marysol’s mother, Mama Elsa. She was also very focused on her then-marriage to Scottie Pippen and raising their four children.
Below, we take a closer look at everything that happened to Larsa in Season 1 of RHOM, as well as how her life changed between Seasons 1 and her return in Season 4.
Larsa Pippen’s Marriage to Scottie Pippen
“My husband’s got moves, but I run the game,” was Larsa’s Season 1 tagline, in honor of her then-husband, a former NBA star. At the time, the two had been happily married for 13 years.
“Being married to Scottie, you almost have to be in shape and looking cute,” she admitted in the premiere episode.
Later in the episode, she touched on the couple's finances. “I basically manage all of our money,” she revealed. “When a husband lets his wife manage the money, he’s never going anywhere.”
Larsa Pippen’s Family Life in Season 1
In Season 1, Larsa was loving life down south with her four young children. At the time, Scottie Jr. was 9, Preston was 7, Justin was 4, and Sophia was 15 months old.
“We live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We moved here from Chicago, where I’m originally from. This is the only place where you can basically like have a boat in your backyard. So, that was kind of like the reason we moved down here,” she said in the premiere episode.
“I basically take care of Scottie Pippen and my kids,” she said. “I have a really tough job, you know, managing four kids, my husband’s schedule, our accounting, our attorneys, and my kids’ homework, cooking every day. I cook every single day, so it’s a lot of work. By the end of the night, I’m like wiped out. There’s nothing left.”
Larsa Pippen’s Season 1 Drama in the Friend Group
In Season 1, Larsa butted heads with a few of the women in the group. She particularly had some tension with Adriana de Moura, who referred to Larsa as a “high school mean girl” in her confessional. Larsa, on the other hand, got upset when Adriana was late for lunch and judged her for dancing with men at a Miami Fashion Week party. Larsa also blamed Adriana for ruining her cooking party in Season 1, Episode 5, after Adriana used it as an opportunity to confront Cristy Rice for crashing Lea Black’s charity fundraiser.
Larsa also had a tiff with Marysol Patton’s mother, Mama Elsa. At Marysol’s cooking party in the season finale, Mama Elsa claimed to be able to pick up on vibes and dubbed Larsa “emotionally immature.”
Larsa wasn’t having it. “The audacity of her to talk about me, meanwhile I’m the most stable person here,” Larsa said in a confessional. “I’m as stable as they get.”
Eventually, Larsa’s drama with Mama Elsa spilled over to her relationship with Marysol, since Marysol defended her mother. Larsa called Elsa a “b-tch” in front of Marysol, which really upset her.
Larsa Pippen's Finances
During the RHOM Season 1 reunion, host Andy Cohen brought up rumors around Larsa’s finances. “I’m very comfortable. I’m fine. Everything’s great,” Larsa responded.
“My husband made a lot of money playing basketball… I enjoy my life,” she added later in the episode. “I don’t want to focus on negative stuff.”
What happened to Larsa between Season 1 and Season 4
After Season 1 ended, Larsa and her family moved back to Chicago while Scottie worked for the Bulls.
When Larsa returned for Season 4 in 2021, she and Scottie were in the process of divorcing and she was dating again. “I put so much into my marriage but it just wouldn’t get better,” she told the ladies in the season premiere. “I’m happy,” she said of her new single life.
Another change for Season 4: Adriana pointed out a difference in Larsa’s appearance. “Her face is different. Her boobs are bigger. Her butt is even bigger,” Adriana noted in a confessional interview. “I think she is now becoming the Kim Kardashian lookalike.”
What happened between Larsa Pippen and Kim Kardashian?
Larsa was close friends with Kim Kardashian, but the two eventually had a falling out.
"I was best friends with Kim, and I love her and I love Kanye, and I just was the person that was stuck in the middle,” Larsa said in a Season 4 episode of RHOM. She further noted the situation became difficult because "I was the friend that was basically there and saw everything. And that basically was the demise of our relationship. I knew too much, I was a problem, and so, whatever. That’s kind of what happened.”
In an interview with Us Weekly in January 2022, Larsa shared an update on where things stand with Kim currently. “I feel like we’re in a really good place. You know, I feel like there was a lot [of] miscommunication at the time,” she said at the time. “We’ve all apologized to each other. We’re in a really good place.”
