Why Lala Kent's Spending "A Couple Thousand Bucks" on Each Man She Dates
The Vanderpump Rules cast member also revealed the wildest thing she found out about a guy she recently dated.
When Lala Kent decides she wants to go on a date, it isn't cheap.
The Vanderpump Rules cast member, who is currently expecting her second child from intrauterine insemination (IUI), opened up about her costly vetting process for finding a good guy to go out with.
"I do a background check on everyone I date now," Lala said on the July 12 episode of the Why Won't You Date Me? podcast about why dating has gotten "extremely hard" for her following her last split. "Like, full worldwide background check."
"How much is a background check?" podcast host Nicole Byer wondered, and Lala soon shocked her with her answer.
"Oh, you know, a couple thousand bucks..." Lala admitted.
Lala Kent reveals the strangest thing she's found out from her dating background checks
After sharing that she's spending four figures to investigate her potential dates, Lala opened up about one of the weirdest things she discovered from said background checks.
"There was this guy that I was super into, and he claimed that he owned his home," Lala explained on the podcast. "And when the background check came back, there were no homes to be owned ever at all."
Lala acknowledged that the fib wasn't super extreme, but it showed that the guy had a tendency to bend the truth.
"And I'm like, 'That is so not a big deal,'" she said. "But it shows that you lie."

"Like, I don't care if you rent or own," she continued. "And, by the way... you randomly brought it up, and you're lying about it."
As for other things she's discovered, Lala noted that she gets a full rundown on her dates' histories, from any past arrests or criminal charges all the way down to their unpaid parking tickets.
The background checks are telling, and Lala joked that they may be too revealing.
"And, I mean, I'm still single, so not many have passed the background check," she said on the podcast.
