Kyle Richards Was "Taken Aback" When Mauricio Umansky Said *This* About Their Split

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's emotional split played out on the Season 13 finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on February 21, and the OG cast member continued to open up about the demise of their relationship on the subsequent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

During Kyle's time in the Bravo Clubhouse, she touched on several aspects of her and Mauricio's separation — including what he himself has said both in the press and on his own show. Kyle Richards Reacts to Mauricio Umansky's Comments About Their Split

Kyle's response to what Mauricio said was prompted by Andy stating that the Agency boss "put everything out there" about their marriage on his own show. 

Admittedly, Kyle "was a little bit taken aback," she said — specifically when Mauricio "said something like I encouraged him to go and date." 

"It wasn't encourag[ing], it was, you know, I'd rather say that if we're going to be separated. That way I don't have to feel hurt," Kyle continued. "And that's easier to say than be blindsided. I don't know."

What Mauricio Umansky Revealed About Kyle Richards on His Show

Mauricio can be seen making the comments that Kyle was referring to in a preview for the new season of his series. As part of the clip, he's talking to his and Kyle's daughters, Farrah, Alexia, and Sophia.

"I had an amazing 26 years with your mom, an amazing 26 years," Mauricio says. "I wanted to do everything possible to just save it. So, you know, your mom came and she talked to me and she said, 'I think I need space.' She said to me, 'Listen, the rules are that, you know, you go out, you date, you do whatever it is that you want to do. Like, I'm not going to be asking you what you're doing; I don't want you to be asking me what I'm doing. Like, we are separated.'" 

Mauricio also apologizes to his daughters and notes that he may "go spend a month in Aspen" as he and Kyle continue to take "some time" apart.

Back on WWHL, Andy started to ask Kyle for details on what she said during the RHOBH Season 13 finale about no longer trusting Mauricio, but he stopped himself, simply noting, "I will just tease that we got into this heavily at the reunion. So, you will stay tuned for that."

Kyle, more specifically, said on the finale, "There were things that happened that made me lose my trust that I wasn't able to recover from. I just want to be at peace wherever I'm at, 'cause I haven't really had that."
