Get all the Details on Kristen Doute's "Perfect" Engagement Ring from Luke Broderick
The Valley cast members confirmed celebrity jeweler Kyle Chan created the stunning piece.
Kristen Doute closed out the week with some incredible new bling.
On Friday, September 6, The Valley cast member publicly confirmed her engagement to Luke Broderick — the Colorado outdoorsman she started dating two years ago. Shortly after dropping the happy news, the Vanderpump Rules alum took to Instagram to provide a closer look at her massive engagement rock.
“The most perfect ring to ever exist,” she captioned the Story.
Kristen Doute's engagement ring was created by Kyle Chan
As first reported by Us Weekly, the piece was created by Kyle Chan, the Los Angeles-based jeweler who designed Scheana Shay and Katie Maloney’s diamond rings. Kyle shared more details on Kristen’s piece in a September 6 Instagram post, saying it featured a 14K white gold band, an elongated 4.27-carat emerald-cut diamond, and additional white diamonds on the band and halo setting. Kyle said the latter detail “represents the love around the center diamond ‘Kristen.’”
“Congratulations to [Luke] and [Kristen] for their engagement,” Kyle wrote on Instagram.” I am so happy for you both and love you both so much. It is my absolute honor to create the ring of your dreams.”
Luke gave a shout-out to Kyle in the comments section, writing: “You made the perfect ring for us!! Thank you so much!!”
Kristen reflects on Luke Broderick's proposal: "Total surprise"
According to Us Weekly, Luke popped the question earlier this week during a boat ride in Maui. Kristen told the outlet the proposal “was a total surprise,” but always knew that Luke was "the one."
“I knew from the moment we met that Luke was my person,” she said. “I am so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiancés.”
How did Kristen and Luke meet?
The Valley couple was introduced during their mutual friends’ wedding in the summer of 2022. Kristen previously confessed she felt instant chemistry with Luke but was hesitant to jump into another relationship.
“I battled with being, like, your person. I love you so much, but just the thought of being someone’s girlfriend again threw me through a loop because I want to be a wife and I want to be a mother,” she said in a 2022 episode of her Sex, Love and What Else Matters podcast. “Most of all, I just want to be a mother and a partner. And I was so tired of being a girlfriend for a couple of years and then having sh-t fall apart.”
What's next for Kristen and Luke?
Since then, Kristen and Luke have taken huge steps in their relationship. Earlier this year, the two confirmed they had ditched apartment living and got a new house in the LA area. Months before the big move, Kristen told People magazine that she and her beau were trying to conceive again after experiencing a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2023.
“We’re just back on the train trying and fingers crossed,” she said. “We’re doing right every month exactly how we should be doing it. So yeah, we’re just hopeful.”
