Is Kristen Doute Engaged to “the One” Luke Broderick? See Why Some Fans Are Wondering
The Valley cast member addressed the speculation after sharing photos from her and Luke's romantic getaway.
Kristen Doute is letting the world know she and Luke Broderick are not engaged — at least not yet.
The Valley cast member confirmed her relationship status via Instagram this week, after she shared another round of photos from her romantic getaway with Luke. The August 8 carousel showed the couple embracing one another against a gorgeous Santa Barbara backdrop. The first slide captured Luke kissing his girlfriend on the forehead, while Kristen placed her left hand on her beau's stomach.
“Find the one you can’t live without,” the Vanderpump Rules alum captioned the post.
Kristen Doute reacts to engagement speculation
Although it was a sweet and happy moment, the photo caused a bit of an online stir, as many people noticed Kristen was rocking a large and very sparkly ring. The jewelry and romantic pose led some to believe Luke had finally popped the question; however, that assumption was quashed after a quick zoom-in revealed the ring was on Kristen’s left pointer rather than her ring finger.
“Kristen u almost made me have to go get a glass of sauv blanc,” one user commented. “I thought this was an engagement post.”
“I literally thought you were engaged,” another fan added, to which Kristen replied, “cmon you guysssss you’d know.”
Have Kristen and Luke Broderick discussed marriage and kids?
Kristen and Luke began dating in 2022 after they were introduced at their friends’ wedding. Fans got a closer look at the couple’s dynamic in the inaugural season of The Valley, which explored their semi-long-distance relationship. (Luke was living part-time in Colorado while filming Season 1 in the Los Angeles area.) He spoke about his reality TV debut in a March interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Here is the deal — this was discussed prior to us dating, making it official, that if we make it a thing, I have to agree to be on camera,” he explained. “So I am following through with my side of the deal.”
“And my side of the deal is when we become parents, when the baby or the child is of school age, we no longer live in proper L.A,” Kristen said, adding that filming with Luke was both “nerve-racking” and "exciting." “I think I have just evolved so much….We have our podcast, but I really wanted to showcase our life and wanting to be married, eventually married, wanting to be parents.”
What's next for Kristen and Luke?
The Valley couple is now in the process of moving into their new home, which they teased in the June 27 episode of their Balancing Act podcast.
“We don’t really have sunlight (in their apartment)... There are just things I am realizing about myself that I absolutely need to thrive,” Kristen said. “And that is being able to go outside with my dog at any point, sit outside and work. I think I work the best when I’m sitting like in a backyard or just sitting in the sunlight. So we looked at a house and we’re like, we’re in, bruh.”
“We did and we loved it,” Luke added. “And we’re yeah applying for it. It’s got a pool. I’ll have a garage that I’m most excited for. I know Kristen isn’t quite as excited, but I’m gonna get that second fridge back. It’s coming back.”
