It's no secret a lot has changed between Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney.

Since Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules, the former castmates have had their fair share of on-screen riffs and reconciliations, going from besties and business partners to ex-pals and back to really “good friends.” Although they’ve made major strides in repairing their relationship, many fans have wondered if the two are as close as they used to be. Well, according to Kristen, the answer is no.

The Valley cast member addressed the topic in the latest episode of her Sex, Love, and What Else Matters podcast, claiming she and Katie don't hang out as often despite living in the same building.

Kristen Doute says she and Katie Maloney are "like sisters"

“I care about Katie a lot,” Kristen said during the March 29 broadcast. “Katie and I will always be like sisters, but we just don’t hang out often, even though she lives three doors down the hall.”

Kristen went on to say she and Katie have changed a lot over the years and, as a result, drifted apart. She said this became more apparent several years ago when Katie split from her now ex-husband, Tom Schwartz.

“I think everyone’s growing apart a little bit and growing up… especially Katie,” she explained. “I feel like Katie’s finding her footing with different friend groups and isn’t necessarily as involved, in real life, in this group the same way she used to be… When she was with [Tom] Schwartz it was different. So, I feel like Katie’s really finding her footing outside of the friend group these days. So, who knows?”

Where does Katie Maloney stand with Kristen Doute?

Katie made similar remarks during her March 19 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, when she shared her thoughts on Kristen’s relationship with Luke Broderick.

"We are still good friends," she told host Andy Cohen.

“OK, good. Think she and Luke are gonna go the distance?” Andy asked, to which Katie replied: “I hope so. Yeah. I mean, I haven’t spent a ton of time with Luke. They do live down the hall from me.”

Is Kristen Doute friends with Lala Kent?

Although Kristen is on friendly terms with Katie, she can’t say the same for Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent. She made this very clear in her March 29 podcast episode, plainly stating: “I’m not friends with Lala.”

The feud between the former castmates came to light in early January when Lala shaded Kristen during an Amazon Live stream. Kristen addressed the matter several weeks later, saying she was “caught off guard” when Lala pretended not to know her.

“I have been sitting on this, not thinking I was going to talk about it on the podcast, because Lala is my friend — [or] I guess was my friend because according to her, in this moment, she doesn’t know who I am,” Kristen said on her podcast. “I chose to text Lala when I heard that she was upset with me because I was very caught off guard. I did not know that she was upset about anything. A couple of people filled me in on that so I sent Lala a text about this.”

Is Lala Kent Willing to Reconcile with Kristen Doute?

Lala touched on the drama during her January 30 appearance on WWHL, saying she had no interest in repairing her friendship with Kristen.

“You know, I actually thought her podcast was very profound,” Lala responded. “She said, ‘If Lala cared about the friendship, she would’ve reached out to me, and if I cared about the friendship, I would’ve reached out to her, and I didn’t.’ So.”
