It’s been nearly two years since Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz separated after 12 years together. The pair officially finalized their divorce in October 2022.
Sure, things didn’t work out romantically between the Vanderpump Rules cast members, but they were able to become friendly. In fact, earlier in the month, Katie shared an update on her relationship with her ex-husband, admitting that she “really want[s] the best for Tom.”
What’s more, the duo’s friendship has been going so well that Katie and Tom found themselves having a lot in common, specifically in their dating life.
As revealed in the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 trailer, which dropped on Dec. 11, it appears that the former spouses are interested in the same woman. The gal in question is singer Tori Keeth, and she can be seen kissing Katie and Tom on different occasions in the clip above.
While fans will have to tune into the new season to find out what exactly happens between the trio, Katie and Tom recently shared new insight into what led to the “love triangle.”

During a Katie and Tom’s chat with Us Weekly, both were shocked that they managed to spark a connection with the same person, with Tom blaming it on a “magnetic pull or shift” that led him to a “parallel universe.”
As for Katie, she mentioned that she had no intentions of getting involved in such a complicated situation. "I didn't plan it,” Katie told the publication before admitting she was unaware of Tom and Tori’s own relationship, adding, “I was like, what am I gonna do, just be like, ‘Oh, why don’t you guys just [go ahead]?’ I’m like, ‘No, I like her too, so I’m going to hang out with her too. And whoever she likes more, I guess she’ll just [decide].’”
The two also spoke about the love triangle in an interview with E! News. "That was something I didn't, and couldn't prepare myself for," Katie said. "So I just sort of got through that. It was short-lived. But it was funny, we tried to just make it not too awkward, as much as possible. But like, what do you do? I don't know."
Tom, meanwhile, specifically addressed Katie's "may the best man win" remark that she made in the Season 11 trailer. "I mean you guys, I love myself, but I'm no competition for Katie Maloney," he joked. "You know what I'm saying? I waved the white flag."

Katie Maloney gives an update on her dating life
Katie's love life will be on full display on the new season of Vanderpump Rules, as she is on the hunt to find love again.
The Something About Her co-owner revealed as much when she spoke to BravoTV.com recently at the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premiere party, where she opened up about her dating life.
“This season you’ll see a couple of potential people, and it’s all just trying different things on and seeing what works and see what doesn’t,“ Katie said.
Although Katie is open to romance, she noted that she is happy being single right now, saying, “I’m so good on my own and I don’t like need anyone.”
She continued, “So it’s like in order for me to disrupt the peace and solitude and good things I have going on, unless you’re like pretty spectacular, and like so far, [no].”
